Don't sit down. Ever.

Or try soaking them regularly to remove stretching. But really, as far as I know, the bulge is an inevitable part of wear. It's not as bad as you think. Trust me.

I own a pair of raw Nudie Straight Sven's in a 31 that fit me perfectly after wearing them for 5 months. I recently purchased the Average Joe in the "used grey" wash in a 32 and they fit perfectly right out of the box. Will the washed AJ's stretch as amuch as my raw Sven's did? Should I size down to a 31? In short, do washed jeans stretch as much as raw jeans? Thanks.

Another, yes another, soaking question.

I have a pair of size 31 Imperial Dukes in indigo for around 5 weeks now. Been wearing them 5 days a week on average so they're getting worn a fair bit.

Didn't measure them before wearing but now they've stretched out to 33 inches around the waist! They're a tad too loose, and i want them to fit tighter around the waist/hips.

I'm not keen on washing them cause want to avoid fading at this early stage.

But do you reckon i should soak these for a good 45 minutes in warm water (just water, no soap etc) and see how they shrink? I've never soaked a pair of denim, but any other tips?

And what about sizing, should i expect the jeans to stretch out again after they dry and i start wearing them again?

Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated! Help a lost and confused kid out please...

First recommendation is to check out the "Jean" thread we have dedicated to questions like these.

A soak won't hurt your jeans much as there's plenty of indigo left to go around. They should shrink back to their original size (or thereabouts) once dry. And hey, if they stretched out the first time, guess what they're going to do after a few wears...

1) no
2) probably not
3) in general, no

I went to the "jean" thread and the first post states:

This is meant to be the main thread for anyone needing recommendations for their next pair(s) of jeans since "Ask a Question" was far too confusing of a thread title.

Hence the post here.

And the full name of the thread is... "I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Help/Question/Recommendation Thread For Beginners)" Confusing, huh?

I have a question for anyone who has ever ordered a pair of custom made leather or suede chuck taylors off the converse website. What kind of insole do they use? I've bought leather chucks before and they often come with a thicker, cushier insole (similar to the ones found in the JV chucks or Jack Purcells), so I wanted to know if they come with the standard insoles or the cushier insoles.
