Black, white, gray. Not brown.

Hey, I am selling a friends jacket that he says is new. It still has the Hickey Freeman sleeve logo thingy. What is that called? and does this count as being NWT since it still has the sleeve logo thingy?

thankS!

I have a dark navy, pinstriped suit that I plan on wearing for my wedding. I am looking for a pair of shoes I can wear sans socks (summer wedding) that would go well. The suit is RLBL. I don't know much about shoes but I generally know when I like something, however, any suggestions are viable, budget is secondary. Also worth noting, I have a size 12.
Thanks!

Unless the store tag is still intact, the jacket is only new without tag at best. A lot of people don't remove the sleeve label at first wearing simply because they don't know better. Same with the pockets sewn shut deal.

If the sleeves are unfinished and basting thread are still intact, you might have a case. Even then, it probably still new without tag (the key word, really).

Bucks in tan or white
LL Bean handsewn blucher moc
Venetian loafers
Spectators from brands like Allen Edmonds off eBay
Desert Boots

Boat shoes as the last resort, simply because everyone else would probably be rocking them.

What is the best online retailer to buy denim from if you need it shipped to Canada?

Most of the retailers I seem to find either don't ship to Canada.. or if they do, the deal is killed with $30+ shipping.

I feel like I'm just jumping in here, but can someone explain 'anti-fit' ? I searched this thread and haven't found this answered. It's not in the denim terminology thread either.

Does it mean the denim is cut to intentionall leave sag in the ass? That's the best I can come up with...

Why would anyone need that much velcro? These guys sell it by the roll http://www.liangdianup.com/miscellaneous_1.htm and is
hook and look and velcro the same thing?

Pretty much. It's the opposite of a "proper" fit that follows the contours of the body. Here's Levi's definition of it:

It's a way of cutting the rise of the jean in a straight line (as opposed to curved) which gives the 501® jean its recognisable 'top block' (the section of the jean that goes from the waist to the crotch). It came about as a result of trying to maximise every inch of the denim fabric in the late 1890s and early 1900s, and also as a result of taking the original Levi's® Overall and cutting them down to a pair of jeans. Overalls aren't cut to follow the body but rather to 'hang' on it, and so the 501® jean has that same cut - the 'Anti-Fit' cut that doesn't follow your body shape. There are many benefits to anti-fit: Greater comfort, less wear on the seat, and of course, the ability to look good when worn 2 sizes too big!

Anyway, imo the fit doesn't really matter as much with linen, b/c the point is too lack relaxed, rumpled and even a little sloppy.

Thanks for the answer, also should Linen be kinda baggy, or should one size down when buy a linen shirt. I normally wear a medium (156 pound 5'9") The medium fits the shoulders ok (not great) but the body seems pretty baggy. There was only a Medium and Large no Smalls.

A small amount of money is still money. The most expensive purchases are those you don't wear much... Look on eBay or something.

Go with Authentics if the convenience of slipons is important to you. Personally I think Purcells look better.

And yeah, go with size 8 for JP.

One last question I swear, if my chest measures about 38.5" - 39" (with an undershirt on) and looking at Jcrew MADRAS, should I go small or medium?

Thanks
