Duh - I should have said of course there is. Alden and Allen Edmonds both offer a restoration service (or whatever the hell they call it) that they claim can restore a shoe to like-new condition. Even if your pair is another brand, it can be done. Not sure where, by who, or for how much. You could try asking in Men's Cothing.

Who does chainstitching? Is there somewhere that I can send my jeans to be hemmed with a chainstitch?

Who does it cheapest?

Thanks.

In NY, Blue in Green. Free for in-store and online purchases, not sure how much for previously owned jeans.

In SF, Self Edge. Free for in-store purchases, $15 for online purchases, $20 for previously owned jeans.

I'm sure there are more, but those are the only places I know of.

I've got one and I love it. Stick to the earthy or neutral colors. Brown, beige, green, navy, etc. Depends on the shade of orange, we talking rust or neon?

I have a light grey one and it's the one that gets the most use. Works with most of my pants. the lighter colors tend to be more casual IMO. eg a sky blue, or baby yellow... I have black, burgandy, etc and they're more for button up shirts

I was just recently given this brown leather suede looking jacket as a gift and I have no idea what to wear with it. I was thinking maybe some jeans, a white dress shirt, but have no idea what kinda shoes to wear. I'm 21 by the way so I wouldn't want anything that makes me look too old. Also, would it look okay to wear that with jeans and perhaps a white t-shirt? Thanks in advance.

Oops this dude got cut off while I was trying to make a funny.

Would look very good with both white dress and t shirt. If you're going to wear leather shoes with it, make sure they're brown and somewhat close to that shade. Maybe some Clarks?

Whoa, just looked again and saw it's Tommy. Careful, if it was 1996 you could get stabbed for that jacket!

Where can I get vans slip-ons at a very competitive price online? I'm looking for a pair in black and/or brown. Anyplace sell 'em for less than zappos around $50?

It's a dark jacket; in general, lighter colors will look better.

Yes, but then you have to pay for shipping, which Zappos does for free and figures into their prices; they may appear more expensive, but it's basically a wash.

You could also see if you find a Van's outlet/factory store and maybe ask someone to proxy for you; could be cheaper, even if you have to throw them $10.

Question for the collective...

Just picked up some f380s, tagged size 33, which is my true waist, and after soaking there is some odd room in the top block. Most notably, when I stand with my legs close together, a "V" shape develops around the fly. Will this settle down as the denim becomes less stiff, or will I always have some funny shaping there due to a too-large top block?

Perhaps I should be looking for a size 32 knowing that the waist might stretch?

/Not that I mind the package enhancement, just looks a bit odd.

Yes, it will settle, but that may not solve the issue. Since you have them, I would just deal with it. Going through the trouble of selling them and buying new ones isn't worth it when the problem could be your build + the cut. Don't obsess over fit. It's not worth it.

How do New Balance 574 fit? I wear and 11 in chucks/clarks db and 12 in AE and Ferragamo. Kind of sick of my Chucks and was wanting some other sneaks.
