Hi everyone,

i just discovered this site and i am sure you can help me.

I had always been wearing Levis 501. I am slim and not short, 5'11'', 155 p.
My hip bones are quite high.

By chance i "discovered" that there are also many other jeans out there so i started to try low waist ones, and after that i cant wear 501 anymore, as I fell they are too high.
I then started trying Diesel, 7 for mankind, levis E series, etc. but never found a pair that completely satisfies me. I also heard about Adriano Goldschmied but never tried.
Everyone is talking about the 7 for mankind, but I didn't see anything exceptional.

I admit that I am lost, and I am not sure I got the difference between "relaxed fit" and "loose leg", and all the rest...
I am simply looking for a normal, straight leg pair of jeans whose buttons are lower than 501. Should it be "low waist" or "sits below the waist", or "at the waist"?
I do not want bootcut, nor slim. Just low waist and straight leg. The problem with the ones I tried is that they are too tight. I wear size 32, and the 33 looks too big and saggy.
I also tried levis 505 and I don't like the leg too wide.

Which brand/model would you recommend? Diesel? Levis E? 7?

Thanks in advance

odd question:

is there any site/store/forum (besides ebay) where I might be able to find clothes from a specific store from a past season?

a girl I know has a women's french connection jacket that fits me perfectly, and I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to find it.

Discount stores will have stuff from past seasons, though the pickings can be slim and it'd would be pretty hard to find something very specific.

Where do you live? It may be easier for you to get reccomendations if you can be told where to go. You will almost certainly be advised to get Raw Denim from people here, and if you don't live near certain major cities, it's slim pickings. But that's what the internet is for. Obviously though, it would always be better for you to try jeans on first.

Well NS is *slim* if you size down appropriately... ..maybe by slim he means not skin tight. Either way, knowing what his options to try on in person are would be the best

thanks a lot for your replies guys.
I do live in NYC. Never heard about APC NS before, and as i said i discovered this forum today. I am sorry!

i dont like slim/tight but i dont like saggy either!
i have a sport pant by Incotex that fits perfectly, and wouldnt mind a pair of jeans that is the same. Simply low waist and str8 leg. like 501 with lower waist, is it so weird? the Levis has bootcut or slim low waist model. I like the low waist, but neither the bootcut nor the slim fit, as it is too tight

If you live in NYC then there's a whole lot to choose from. Go to the store Blue in Green and ask the staff there for help and try some stuff on/look at things.

If that fails then look into getting APC New Standards. APC has stores in NYC.

Yup, Blue in Green SoHo is THE denim store in NYC. If you go in there and have any idea what you want (or no clue at all), they will be able to get exactly what you are looking for. Buying from there will get you a high quality jean, most likely a Japanese jean that is raw. I'd definitely read up to see if raw is what you are looking for, because if not it will severely limit your selection at the places you are being told to go.

If you dont like anything at Blue in Green Soho (impossible...), you can always stop by the APC store or any number of other places, but BiG is pretty much gonna do it for you, guaranteed.

When SUFU is again accepting registration, how does one go about it? I've never seen a link.

I want in on the SEXFH05 contest...

Well...there'll be a link for creating a new account...Then you'll have to wait for a mod to ok your registration before you can actually post anything.

How does Red Wing shoe sizing run? I've heard they run a size large.

what is the purpose/function of the fur on fur-trimmed hoods? just aesthetic? or does it somehow prevent wind from getting into the hood, etc.?

Are the sizing of Fryes boots normal?

I normally wear a size 11W, so should I just order that? I am not familiar with the Fryes brand.
