The three models are all straight legs but the varying degrees of slimness give the illusion of a taper. They're definitely made of a jean-like material but I wouldn't say stiff although they are a bit heavier than what most people think of with something like Dockers. It's been a few months since I've had them in front of me but I remember more of a washed Levi's denim feel to them so they're definitely not 21oz IH's nor uncomfortable.

Too heavy for summer? ... I think I asked this to someone before but forgot what they said about them.

any chance of any other colors coming out from crate or any other brand? Read the SS thread and they seem to fit true to size... might take a chance on these, but would love other colors ie white.

Does anyone know how APC's fit?

This is my first post so i dont know if im doing this right, but i wanted to see if i could get help with jeans. Im 5'9 around 165lbs, played soccer my enitre life so i have a little bigger legs, but i cant find jeans that fit. I normally get around a 32-30 or a 31-30 but they never seem to look right and always make my legs look short. If anyone could throw me in a direction that would be awsome

Not at all. If you can wear the average pair of jeans, you can wear these.

No kidding? Weird. Well, if DC's correct then they have two other models that are straightleg.

It breaks down like this: Hamilton (relaxed), James (straight leg slim), and Sally (skinny).

The James I saw were straightleg for sure. If they're basing the chinos off of the denim models (which if they're using the same names would make sense), then the James and Sally would both be straightleg.

Holy crap I hate tailors in my city. I don't think any of them have any idea what chain stitching is. I ask them if they can do it, they say I don't know what it is, then I tell them I need pants hemmed and they immediately say "Yes of course we can do it."

So my question is... Who would you recommend online that can do chain stitch hemming? The quicker the better (without compromising quality obviously...). And what do is a typical price for this service?

Onion,
I think you may be taking this too far.

Chainstitching is kind of a cool detail if you're into total retro authenticity and it's a nice touch if the jeans you buy come with it or if the store you buy them from offers it.

I think it's totally unnecessary to go out of your way and mail your pants halfway around the country and end up paying 3 or 4 times what it would cost to get them hemmed at a local tailor. A chainstiched hem is not objectively better than a regular one and, like I said, although it's a nice detail, you're coming across as a bit obsessive.

I actually found a dress maker who can do it, I just have to supply my own thread. To be fair though I would of only had to pay for shipping one way, as I can send stuff out at work for free. I don't think an extra $10 is that much for a cool detail, and I'd also heard someone was doing free chain stitching if you paid shipping, so it could even out. Either way I'm not doing it.

Can anyone point me to the fit and sizing threads for 5EPxSF? I wear a 28 in APC NS and would like to know what size to get for 5EPxSF. I have muscular legs and the APC NS really hugs them more than I would like. My waist is a 30.

Thanks!

Get a 30. I have APC NS in a 30 (my normal pants size is a 32) - the thighs are perfect. I have 5EPxSF in a 32 - the thighs are a touch looser than I'd like.

Zipper Repair

The zipper broke on my newly acquired Barneys Co-Op boots. So...what type of shop do I trust for repair - leather (e.g. Johnson in SF) or shoe? Thanks in advance!

You already started a sizing question thread and yet you still can't find the search button?
