Thanks for your help, Asch. So if I'm not mistaken, hip flare has nothing to do with one's thighs? My main problem with jeans is that the thigh portion tends to stretch out over time (from sitting down, etc) and gives me "thigh flare" if that makes any sense? Is this "thigh flare" the same thing as hip flare or not?

To better illustrate my point, here is a crop from a recent WAYWT. What I'm trying to illustrate here (and figure out how to avoid) is the bagginess in the thighs that results from wear.

A lot of this is from the rigidity of the jeans. The combs at the knees prevent the denim above to drape normally. Fresh jeans don't do this because the creases haven't been set; dress slacks don't do this because the entire fabric is soft. You can try finding jeans that are tighter through the thighs or giving the jeans some time (and some soaks) to loosen up.

If I'm a 32" waist, and wear a 30 in APC NS, what should I get in Kicking Mule Workshop raw? (The Chinese made)

Edit: Found it, looks like the answer is 31.

Eternal 811 One Wash question...

How much do these stretch in the waist? I tried on a pair the other day at BiG and they fit well everywhere but were extremely tight in the waist. I would probably need at least an inch of stretch for them to be comfortable.

You should get an inch of stretch in the waist easily. I gained ~1.5" on mine after barely being able to button them all the way up.

When a shrink-to-fit jean shrinks does the rise also shrink a bit or only the waist and inseam?

I'm looking at buying an lvc 1955. But with a 13" front rise it seams just too big.
12" would be optimal.

with stf jeans, everything shrinks

if you check the big measurements you see that pretty much everything shrinks, how much the rise shrinks depends on how you wash it and all that other miscellaneous stuff that i can't really help you with

There is (or was) a blog that chronicled raw denim on a weekly basis with photos. I wanted to show someone the basis of raw denim, and figured this would work as good example. Anyone have a link to this? I care what brands they use, as long as they are raw with lots of photos.

Has anyone moved the button on a collar that's too tight? I'm considering moving the button on one of my shirts about 1/4"-1/2". The thread in Men's Clothing talks about it in conjunction with using a tie, but I hardly wear a tie and more than half the time I button all the way up.

I've moved buttons with some success, but rarely wear the shirts buttoned all the way without a tie. However, it depends on how much you move the button - more than 1/2" can get tricky. Solids are easier to deal with than patterns, as it is harder to tell if the lines are disrupted.

Thanks Santos. Didn't think about the patterns and solids affecting how it'd end up looking. The shirt in consideration is solid, so I'll probably give it a go. Regarding buttoning up, for my fits I feel I look sloppy without it buttoned up and wearing a tie is a bit too formal for where I work and for my GF. So buttoning to the top makes it a little cleaner (when the shirts tucked in and the sleeves unrolled) and it elongates the torso, which is good for those of us with boxier bodies.
