Bah, I've been using a leather all-ett (www.all-ett.com). Decidedly un-stylish, but it's so stealthy and functional that style doesn't matter. IMO better than having $500 worth of leather bulging from my ass. Now here's a question of my own-- I tried on a discounted "7 diamonds" buttondown, which left me surprisingly impressed with its subtle (a first for this brand?) vertical stripes and good fit. So, how is the construction of these pieces? It felt pretty solid, but I'm not sure. And yes, I know this places me solidly outside the realm of SF approval.

I'm wondering what jeans are really "in" at the moment. Right now I have a wardrobe full of lovely bootcuts, some ready-worn, some that are nice and clean. I really like how bootcuts look with shoes, and the low rise suits me just fine.

Other than skinny jeans (Which I would never wear and really don't have the legs for anyway,) what jeans are really fashionable at the moment? One thing: I won't spend massive amounts on jeans, I'm kind of on a student budget here.

Slim jeans? Take a look at the WAYWT thread to see what kind of jeans are popular among the people here.

I thought asking generally might be better than trying to identify individual brands and types. Plus I live in the UK, so cant get most of the brands that I've seen very easily.

if you're looking for japanese brands, both repro and more modern cuts, BiG and Self Edge both ship internationally (SE does free shipping as well). just check measurements and there won't be a problem.

I have a Jean Shop wallet that I consider the best wallet I've ever owned. I used to carry a Red Moon type monstrosity, but I switched to this for comfort and versitility. The leather is soft and beautiful but also feels quite tough. At first I wasn't sure I could justify spending that kind of money on such a simple wallet, but I'm more than pleased with it. I got it at Context. http://www.contextclothing.com/brand...llet_black.php

Thanks, those jeans look really good, but really quite expensive. I like the idea of Raw Denim though, so I think I'll look for a cheaper pair of those.

The only people I've seen wear JR's here have been Get Smart (not in ages), Joey_Formal (all the time and well-faded), and the former Mr.Cultpop. Wonder if the Windy City finally got the best of him.

Is there a diffence when a shirt is sized by neck rather then chest(i.e labelled small, medium etc)? I always thought if it was by neck it was a more formal shirt you'd wear with a tie and suit but I have seen some rather casual looking shirts on a website with that gives a neck measurements
post #4304 of 12663
I have seen the word measurements (sm/med/l) on more dressy shirts and numbers on casual ones-- it varies quite largely by designer. The neck and sleeve measurements are supposedly the most accurate, but the numbers hardly suggest a consistent chest measurement. In the end, there really are only three ways to guarantee that a button-up fits-- get the "scoop" from someone else, try the shirt on, or have it tailored.

I bought a cheap navy cotton blazer at Target on a whim. I'm going to get it tailored soon and I have one question about it: I'm planning to wear it casually with jeans and it comes with silver buttons, should I get my tailor to switch them out to black/navy buttons? Here's a picture of the blazer:
