Which leads to my second question.... How much, on average, would it cost to get a suit tailored. Is there a mini guide for this? Or am I at the mercy of my tailor? Zach
They get them through discounters, wholesalers, etc. or it's from their own wardrobe and they're just selling them off. The cost of getting a suit altered will vary depending on what work you need done. Simple alterations like changing the hem on trousers or the length of suit sleeves will usually be between $10-20. Tapering the body/waist suppression is usually $30-60. Trouser waist/seat alterations between $15-30. The most expensive alteration I've ever had done was to re-position sleeves on a jacket so that they'd rest at a different angle, and was about $100 (all shoulder related work will be expensive fyi).
