Well, two reasons. One, it's a little more uh....'stylized' than most of the things I incorporate into my wardrobe, even though I like it. This is true of a lot of garments outside of the range of normal SF stuff. Owens? Bad-ass, but I'd be hard-pressed to pull some of it off unless I put a lot of thought into it. For reference, my other leather is:
and it's fantastic. The lambswool collar comes off and it's easily adoptable into a ton of looks. I'm not sure I'd have as easy a time of it with the bomber.
Two, of all the people in the office who said to run with it, with one exception, they all dress incredibly shitty. Love 'em to death, but poorly fitting clothes, crap you think is cool because it's thrifted, and shit sneakers are the rule of thumb. I recall everyone got hyped a few months ago because one of my coworkers came in wearing this ridiculous blazer that was easily three sizes too large. So I appreciate that they're sincere, but there's an extent to which I value their opinion. Euro-fashion dude and my friend who I've insidiously addicted to Japanese denim gave it a pass though, and they don't have terrible opionions.
