^ Roger, my sentiments exactly. That boot is just on a whole other level.

I may be in on the non shell version --- I bought 5 pairs of shell boots this year, I simply need more variety. I would also greatly prefer Dainite or even - dare I suggest - a commando sole. I know it would change the profile, but the latter would be a badass boot for inclement weather (snowing AGAIN as I type).

I would consider doing the boot in all dark brown calf if the shaft is grained. I could do Dainite, but commando is too bulky for me.

If we did go with leather sole (trying to avoid but admit it may be best on this boot), would Bonafe do flush steel toe taps?

@budapest12, very tempting, but need a dressy bal boot more. I have two outstanding GMTO orders with Skoak already for derby boots and another in transit from GF.

I will e-mail to ask about toe taps, but I would think they could for a fairly small cost. I agree that the double leather sole will look best.

In terms of appearance, I would think it would look pretty similar to the Saint Crispin's boot just with a calf upper (the soft chiseled last is fairly close to the Sailor last). I can't competently photoshop anything, though.
