Carlos Santos Derby in Braga Patina. My usual size is 9 and these are that size. They are probably a shade darker than the photo suggests but still a lighter brown.

What color did you use to darken

Can't take credit - I had the inimitable Thomas at the Savile Row store do it. Left is the patina'd version, right the standard stock colour.

Looks much more wearable! Great looking pair of Mitchells! I might consider doing some self-patina after a few more wears after seeing these haha

They are. nod[1].gif They work much better now with trousers in greys (light- to mid) and blues almost up to navy.

At least, that's my opinion - I'd be curious as to what my more sartorially adventurous brethren pair their standard midnight blue with?

Gable in midnight blue with a dark burnished toe and heel is what I was thinking for us. Then we can do a black sole and blue lining too. I prefer the tg73 for us to help make it pop a bit more.

Any interest in that for us?

Yeah, if I knew it would be that dark, I would have jumped in for sure. I held off because I thought it was going to be too light/ a bit purplish as seen in some pics.
