Haven't been on this thread in a while since I haven't been in the into recent EB mass purchases. Sorry to hear about EG but it's not something new. Sorry to hear things didn't work out Patrik but I'm sure business will continue to progress.

Good luck with the new line!

Many thanks Patrik, I had discussion with Gabriel and I will end up in pair of Galways with shearling, hope they will work. From today, its cold in Prague and snow and I discovered that eventhough I purchased quite a lot of hoes with you, my winter inventory is poor :( since I love classic shoes with leather soles.

haha that would be a great way to basically force us all to give the new maker a chance right off the bat!

I'm curious. Is it that the split toe is more casual and the navy SC/worsted combo merits something more dressy and trad, like a cap toe Oxford?

I can see the preference, just wondering if your logic is to follow a stricter definition of trad.

If the new maker turns out to be a relative of Mr Bonafé...that'd be too funny.

I think one thing I've found is that texturally, suede doesn't go quite well with worsteds. They do tend to gel better with flannels and linen.

Which one should I choose for my black Bal boots:

C&J Sommerville

Carmina:

Enzo Bonafe

Out of these, the Canteburry should be the best choice but they are out of budget.

I don't know from trad, but a Navy blazer and worsted trousers are the most formal of 'sport coat' combos to my eye, and the split toe in question is a bit too casual to be paired with it.
