I agree. If you're not hell bent on seeking a refund, then I'd take the goodies and work on buffing it out as best as possible,
Based upon the pic, I'd be most would have a hard time identifying the flaw. Naturally, you'll know it's there (a wonderful Seinfeld episode comes to mind), which no amount of paste/polish will alleviate, so you need to determine if the scratch is enough of a turnoff to bail on get the refund.
I'd also give a +1 for Skoak's QC team. While it is clearly a flaw (admittedly a small one in my view), it would not surprise me for certain companies to try and slide it by without notice from the consumer. A tactic of that sort would irk me immensely.
I have no doubt, based upon the pictures meant to make the scratch look as bad as possible, that it can be made to look nonexistent, and Skoak's proactive approach on the matter speaks volumes for me.
Indoor cell shot, but I wanted to give a close-up of the color on the EG Cardiff. I was going to darken the shoe if it was as light as the Almond Baby Food color in Skoak's shop photo (sorry guys), but figured it was just the lighting. Supple country calf and built like a tank on 202 with double leather. Quite a few odd stock sizes left.
