Can someone remind me about the red-green color issue with some of the brown suedes used (I vaguely recall an article about this in the blogosphere). What of Carminas? Patiently waiting for polo suede restock in rain last.

I've been emailing back & forth with Gabriel & thought I'd check here as well. I'm looking for some sizing advice. I'm going to order a blucher & a balmoral, both on the EB 946 last.

My feet are slightly wide in the forefeet & my arch is a bit lower then normal.

In Alden I wear a 9.5D Barrie and a 9.5E Aberdeen in shoes (although for some reason my 9.5D Alden shells fit a bit tighter than my 9.5D CXLs), I wear a 10D in a suede Barrie Boot which fits a bit "comfortably loose". My RL Marlow is 10D (a bit snug in the forefoot). My CJ Islays are 9E (for some reason snug in the vamp area when worn with thick socks). I have a pair of MTO AE Eagle Countys which are 10E/10.5E (AE's 222 last), my left foot is slightly longer than my right.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I want to make sure I get the fit right!

Anyone?

Skoaks killing me this month. Thought I was done buying and now I queued up 5 more. I swear, if it weren't for pre-order / GMTO / MTO I would have like 5 pairs of shoes. This **** is addicting. I should have known better than to sign up for an account on this forum, I have zero self control and I am easily influenced by others.

I've got the same issue as you. I'm an 8.5 in barrie. Boots, like you, fit comfortably loose. I could probably do 8 for shoes, i have a 8.5 ptb which i lace up quite tightly but the heel has plenty of space.

I'm also doing a balmoral boot, but in the 773 which i heard is similar to the 946. I'm going with a 8UK and lace them tightly. Better slightly loose than too snug.

I think you can afford to do a 9UK for the boot and a 8.5UK for the blucher. Hope it helps!

@budapest12

Any chance you can take some overhead shots of the EB cap toes on the 2102B?

Still trying to figure out what silhouette I prefer for the bal boot (2102B vs 363MOD)

Cheers.

Gents with many MTOs under their belts, which leather combo would make this bal boot wearable casually and for dressier attire? Might even wear occasionally with denim.

Suede shaft, starting behind the eyelets:
Janus Baltic
Janus Testa Moro
Hidro Moka
Hidro Jasper
Hidro Tobacco

Last: either 363MOD or 2102B

(I'm thinking tobacco or Moka, but intrigued by the blue suede. @JubeiSpiegel if only I had your mockup skills.)

Edit:

^ Appreciate it! No worries if you can't.

I have been lurking for a while but new to the thread...be gentle. I am strongly considering the EB MTO. I consider myselt traditional with a flair. I would like to purchase a an elegant "gunboat" type shoe with the Norvegese welt, either the double oak or danite 500 sole. I am considering the following shoes Adelaide with medallion or cap toe 3579 on the2102B, the Austerity Brogues, or the saddle oxford or the 3540 on the 74945 boot.

The adelaide and wing tip would be Claret Museum Calf or cordovan burgundy. The saddle oxford and boots would be the same main color with a black saddle or black pecarry etc.

Which shoe would be the most elegant, timeless "gunboat"?

This would be my first EG and first MTO. Currently I wear mostly Ferragamo Tramezza, Gucci, exotic skin shoes and Lucchesee Alligator boots.

Thanks for your insights.
