Wow so there may be a few of us sharing photos of similar shoes on here. So you were thinking 946 chukka with chain norvegese in museum? Which museum were you thinking? a dark one like plum or one of the lighter brown shades?

Was the one that Rider did from his own company or another company?

I believe Rider has collaborated with Sassetti and also Moretti.

I really would like to try a chukka, but have two pairs on the 946 and would prefer some variety.

well you could get a chukka on a different last to change things up.

For the EB MTO, I am looking to put together something along the lines of John Lobb's Brooksland

I have not yet seen any balmoral boots on the 946 last (Skoaktie is checking for me!), but I think the chisel toe with bracken or maybe chestnut museum calf would look really sharp.

Yes that would look really sharp. I would be interested in one like that, once I figure out my situation with sizing and actually get one pair. They suggested the chukka for me for now just because it is probably the most forgiving of the boots if the sizing is too wide, but I am definitely a fan of this idea with a museum calf like those.

That would be the 804 but with a slightly higher instep than the 82. Both are elongated lasts.

No, Bonafé only makes shoe trees of generic fit.
if the instep of eb 804 double monk in UK8.5 fits me well, will a UK9 888 eg Westminster do so?

Guys I am thinking about doing this boot in 74945 last in Claret Museum Calf. I am also thinking about having it fully fur lined. Apparently Bonafe does insole fur lining too. I never had fur insole so I do not know how it feels. What do you think?

I have this StC chukka idea that I have for EB mto.

Not sure if they can have similar design in their inventory? Will 74945 or 804 last be more suitable? Which last have lower instep? Cheers!

Fur sounds good if your mainly going to be out and about in the cold outdoors. Fur sounds warm, potentially hot, sticky, and sweaty if your going to be out and about but in the indoors. Besides this boot looks more like a casual boot and not an outdoorsy rough type boot.

I have a handsewn boot with a shearling lining and I have to say, that thing is warm when indoors. If you're in a place that gets really cold and you walk a lot, go for it - they'll be like rugged fur-lined house slippers. But if you're indoors most of the time, be warned the lining can get toasty!

Interesting, ever since I got rid of my black museum pair, I have been thinking of grabbing another pair. I want my first foray to be Shannon or Brooksland inspired.

That would be a pretty good general recommendation but the 804 last from Bonafé is slightly more elongated than the 888 last from EG and the toe box is also slightly roomier.

Bonafé has a lot of boots, we use the 3403 model in our store. For all Bonafé MTO orders, you can specify the last you prefer without any extra charge. The 804 last has a slightly lower instep than the 74945.
