Which by the way feel like slippers when I wear them. Love them.

I like the extra stitching detail on the Shanklin.

By the way, how in the world did you let me miss out on these?

I thought you were the Master Enabler?

Public service announcement - this GMTO is closing soon. 5 June, I believe.

As it would have been a criminal offence to let them pass me by, and I want to keep my record clean, I had to jump in.

Gaziano & Girling St James II Cedar/Kudu GMTO now open

We are now accepting GMTO pre orders for this amazing style, based on a MTO we did recently. Limited availability as the Kudu Leather G&G uses is not abundant.

Having a few examples of both brands, I know full well that EG is a step up from Carmina.  But in that pic of the two chukkas, I gotta say that the Carmina sure doesn't look like a poor relation.

Totally agree. Although I will provide a caveat that no picture I have seen yet captures the quality of the EG's suede. In person I would say the different is more noticed

I missed them, too. So if you're still interested in a few weeks (I have some travel coming up), we'd be 2 of 3 needed for a restocking order...

Actually my size is still in stock,so this was more for the purpose of tweaking @tifosi than actually trying to buy the Shanklin.

Sorry, but I think still might be enough interest without me.

Good luck.

Is there a difference between snuff suede vs fox suede?

What differences do you notice?  Difference in feel?  In look?  Comfort?

I have 2 Edward Green pair of shoes and 1 pair of boots with suede and a few from other shoemakers to include Carmina and the others which also cost less than Edward Green. Both the difference in visual and feel is extremely noticeable. I would say it feels more plush and its hard to describe but it's looks noticeably better than shoes or boots costing less. It's really not that much different with regards to the quality of any other material EG uses versus most lower cost alternatives.

Good to know.  Can't wait for my MTO suede shoe to come in then:)  Got it mostly for the design, but I also do love great suede.

I want in so bad but now to make things worse than my concerns before with just ordering the kudu Thorpe in a last/width that I haven't worn before, I had my wallet with all credit cards stolen yesterday by a patient who broke into the doctors lounge. So I had to have all of my accounts closed and reset. They can't be used for another few days!
I guess this is the sign that they're not for me!!!!! Well maybe not this time around

Sorry to hear about the theft, however I am glad to hear that it sounds like you have things under control.
