I like how G&G is getting so much love lately. Many of their designs are very attractive.

How specifically are they planning to change the St. James design, after the GMTO? Thanks.

That's going to be one hell of an expensive boot. 2.5 to 3k or more probably for shell Chelsea. Very unlikely for a GMTO but at that price you should probably just mto

You think? That would definitely push it past my price range.

If people like the way it looks I'm sure G&G could duplicate it to some extent in calf.

From the G&G appreciation thread.

Some GG news from the GG Tumbler site. Evidently they are changing the St. James design slightly, based more on the original bespoke model it was inspired by. Here is a sample of what the St. James will look like on orders placed after Dec. 1:

The current St. James II model right now for reference:

I can tell that the Adelaide perforations on the instep sits a little lower now, that is all i can see at the moment anyhow...

By my calclation, a Burnham GMTO in shell cordovan would be about 13600 SEK (ex. VAT) or approximately $1840. This is without shoe trees of course.

I actually don't like cordovan, so i would be out of this one. I would not mind some kind of dark cedar version in calf, but my monies are spoken for till next year... :embar:

Edit: Just saw Leave's response, so what he said... :hide:

G&G has definitely produced this pattern in calf, and I believe EG has as well. I am unmoved by a seamless shell boot. Does it look cool, yes. But I have the feeling that shell will roll and crease, and won't look nearly as streamlined over time.

About $2300 USD as a single MTO in Shell, including lasted trees, ex VAT.

That puts it out of my acceptable price range. Oh well.

Would possibly participate if there was a GMTO for a calf version though.

Leaves - Are you guys planning on stocking the new St James model and have you seen it in person? Not sure if you could share some insight?

G&G is getting love because EG shot themselves in the foot by not allowing GMTOs. So everyone moved to G&G

I think it has a lot to do with EG dropping their GMTO program, and GG dropping their required shoe tree with every order policy...
