Yes Carmina does offer wide option for the Rain last but for GMTO you would need Six same pairs.

Isn't the Detroit Last also a fairly wide Last? I forget whether this was wider or not than the Soller however.

I've never worn the Detroit but from visual comparisons it seems to be pretty wide. I know forest and rain offer wide widths but soller and Detroit run on the wider side.

What about the inca last may I know? How does it compare with forest last?

I would need a extra wide size to make Carmina work, for comparison i wear a G width in GG & EG. Don't know if anyone that wears an extra wide size has even successfully ordered a Carmina shoe in an extra wide size. I'll just have to email them to find out i suppose...

Have you checked with Gabriel to see what he has to say?

Both wide fitting. I can't say for sure which is wider - been forever since I tried on Detroit - my bet would be Soller by a small margin.

I did try a wide size in Forest once - which fits a bit too narrow in standard width for me - and found it a bit too wide for my liking.

Anyone need an unworn pair of loden suede PTBs in a wide UK 8.5, holler at me.

Soller is longer but has more taper. I haven't tried both, but I believe that's per Betty.

I honestly think Oscar and Rain are it for me. Soller has too much taper; my pinky toe feels it. I'd have to try another half size down to be sure, since right now I wear super thick socks or use a thin insole.

I don't understand -- Soller has too much taper but you are trying it with super thick socks?  Do you mean you would have to size UP another half size?

Yes, sorry. I went with standard rec of half size down from Rain, but it's still too big everywhere (heel, waist) except across my instep. If I were to size down half again so I wouldn't need thicker socks, the taper would likely be too much for my feet.

I guess the proportions just aren't ideal for my feet. I'd have to really try on the Soller in 6.5 UK to assess.

Yes, Detroit is pretty wide. I have a high instep and wear US 10.E and EE in the AE #5 last in oxfords and E in pretty much every other AE last. Betty suggested a UK 9.5 in the Detroit LWB I just received and it seems about right. About an "E and a half." 😄

You can see a top view below. Pardon the flannel lined jeans but I was wearing jeans and boots for the snow when the package arrived and I couldn't wait to try them on.

While far from "sleek," for (cognac) shell @&$#% gunboats I think they're great.

Or I guess that might be "los barcos de arma?"

@Count de Monet

Gorgeous. Carmina's gunboat is underrated. Same with Vass.

Xpost from Carmina thread.  The Polo suede boots were waiting for me so I made quick use of the remaining light.

Here they are, letting all their red wonderfulness shine:

They look significantly darker indoors - when I opened the box I wasn't seeing much red at all.
