Let me just say WOW!! The EG's are amazing! I am really extremely pleased. I can not believe I waited this long to pick up my first pair. I really can't wait for my Galway and Dover mto's to arrive. We all know the deal with Carmina, amazing value for the price. I needed at least one black shoe in my wardrobe. I may be placing another EG mto before the end of the month. Thinking suede shannon. Fantastic service and quick shipping as usual.

Very nice. How does the Forest last feel in comparison to the EG 888? Did you get the same size?

Congrats, great choices.

The Inverness was the first EG shoe I saw that I said I just had to get.

Thanks Dan! Really a fantastic shoe. Color is deep and rich. And the last suits my feet very well.

So i took these in the same size as my rain/queens lasted shoes - 8.5UK. I took the EG in 9.0UK. The forest last is definitely snug. I thought I read most people take the same size as rain so thats what I did. Im not sure if I should have went with a 9.0UK in this last.

^^^ Crazy idea: ask them.

I've often paid my purchases off before the deadline. Contact them and let them know what you want to do.
Thanks for the reply gentlemen. I sent an email, but it took them a week to respond. Also, I guess he read the email in a hurry because he thought I wanted to place a MTO, so he didn't address my question. I just thought it might be faster to get an answer here. I'm guessing theyre just really busy with all the different MTOs. Don't blame them because they have a record number of MTOs going on.

Do any of you gentlemen know if Skoak will allow me to pay a higher deposit. With the strong USD, I think it is in our favor to pay more upfront. I want to place my order for the stock dark oak/walnut cc galways soon, but was wondering if this was feasible.

I've paid my last few MTOs 100% upon placing the order, given the strong Dollar. At least in my experience, if you ask, they are happy to take all of your money up front.

I think it's funny that we can bet on currency rates by what percentage of our MTO/pre-ordered shoe purchases we plunk down. I would probably pay the minimum and no more.

I just looked at the prices in USD and thought there must be a mistake. Under $800 for EG, man skoak is incredible. Even at 20% more it is still an attractive price point.

The highest the exchange rate has gone in the last month is 1 USD to ~8.5 SEK. My sincerest apologies to all the Greek Styleforum members, but more sabre rattling, please!

Good call on the Galway Steel28!

thanks to both of you for your help with sizing. I hear from many that once you get into EG it's a slippery slope.

Trying to figure out if I need EG lasted trees and extra pair of laces :)

There's no such thing as EG lasted shoe trees, at least not now anyways

^^^ What he said. They are still a cut above generic trees in terms of fit, but whether they are worth the extra premium to you probably comes down more to aesthetics than performance. I have EG trees in about half my EG shoes.
