As I suspected. Thanks for clearing this upp Leaves! Does this also mean that they won't even do it on the 888 as a top drawer MTO?
I personally applaud EG for this decision. It gives their shoes a kind of "artistic integrity" in a world where every other shoe maker lets you decide just about everything, just as long as you pay enough.
You are both correct actually. From what I have been told from Hilary it's a combination of "artistic integrity" and a way to create a leaner production line. This is my personal reflection, but I think changes had to be made during the rough years in Northampton, it's widely know that EG was going through a rough patch a few years back. Companies do what they have to do in order to survive and stay competitive. Although it was a bit frustrating with the limitations at first as a new EG retailer (as many of you know, I have been working with Tony and Dean for G&G as their agent in Germany and Scandinavia for a few years and compared to G&G, EG can feel rigid sometimes), it's something I have gotten used to. EG has so many iconic models to chose from I don't feel it's an issue.
