Just got my tobacco suede rain lasted adelaides, the special manolo make-up from Skoak.

This is the new batch of Tabacco that replaced the one which was initially presented, but then changed without notice to Skoak or any of it's customers.
Anyways, I took the chance that I would be happy with the purchase and went ahead with the order even though Skoak gave me the option to cancel and get a refund. I have always been happy with my purchases from them prior. Let me say, I'm very happy I did not cancel.

The color is a bit darker then the original, but has less of the redness and still has a soft brown that looks really nice under natural light. I can see myself wearing these all the way through the end of autumn before any heavy snowfall.

Anyways, here are some pics from my iPhone that I snapped just to give some of the members here an idea what they may have missed out on if they cancelled, or possible future MTOs with this material. The last picture of the bunch is a pair of captoes that I have in snuff suede, just to show the color difference.

Hmm, wow thanks for the pics. I think they need to do a better job with pics for these pre-orders. That shoe looks completely different from the shoe in this picture. And I don't want to be a jerk but the bottom picture's color reminds me of a turd. Can you tell me which picture more resembles the color in real life?

So I just got an email about my Manolo Adelaide GMTO pre-order. Apparently the source for the suede changed and it no longer looks like the original. I'm not sure if I like the new suede and I'm debating opting to take the offer for a refund. Wanted something more like polo suede or more tan. Not sure about this one. Thoughts?

Hmm, those look miles better than those depicted in the email. I was probably going to cancel based on that email, but now I might have to reconsider. Will still decide when I handle the shoes in the store tho.

Questions, request for pics, etc. They're super responsive shoe geeks and shipping was about a week to CA.

^ Awesome collection and picture. Love those all but the norvegese shell boot is awesome in particular. Thoughts on quality of the shell vs. Carmina?

Is the top balmoral boot (labeled Frankenstitch by mistake) in calf or shell?

Thank you for pointing that out Budapest12, indeed I did get mixed up ... too many shoes :) I have corrected the labels now hopefully !

The Meermin shell (Rocinante Tannery, Argentina) is definitely not as rich and deep as Horween's however I must say that after 2 years (for the black boots) they are performing quite well.

I cannot praise the team at Skoak more and have also always had very good relationship with Meermin. The dark blue Norvegese Cap Toe Derby Boots are Meermin MTO and just arrived a few days ago. I was expecting a more vibrant blue but overall a beautiful pair.

Agreed! Now I need to go see a hypnotist and try and forget about them for 5 months or so. Good things I have. Few other things due in between now and then
