The only problem with Bonafé from my point of view is that they have sooooooo many nice models but there are few samples or even pictures of them. I'm going to Bologna in May to order our fall/winter season stock, I'll take as many pictures as I can of all the samples.

Captoe bal boot

Antiqued burgundy upper, 2102 soft chiseled last, beveled black sole

Black suede shaft, 5 blind eyelets + 4 speed hooks.

Would anyone be interested in joint for this or something similar?

Would much prefer to stick with burgundy or maybe black to keep this a city boot.

Delete the captoe and speed hooks, and add a medallion and you have the MTO I just placed for a St Crispins bal boot a couple days ago.

Just bought some new shoe$. Carmina suede cap toes paired with flanells from Incotex and socks from Sozzi.

I'm also waiting for Bonafé (tan adelaides) and Carmina (navy penny loafers). :slayer:

I am thinking of ordering a Bonafe derby boot MTO, is anyone interested in a group MTO for the following?

The idea is to have something similar to this Saint Crispin's boot:

pcboot1

This Bonafe model, with double rows of stitching and a row of stitching by the eyelets (as in the St. C model):

http://i.imgur.com/CxnLF37.jpg

- 2102 soft chiseled last

- Norvegese welt

- Natural sole edge

- Double leather sole (could potentially do dainite)

- Regular width

For the leather, either:

- Brown shell cordovan upper and shaft (would be 7,580 SEK ex-VAT including worldwide shipping, ~$1,185), or

- Dark brown calf upper with lighter brown grained calf shaft (would be 4,700 SEK ex-VAT including worldwide shipping, ~$735)

I got more information from Patrik about the options with Bonafe.

We are currently discussing the following make up:

- Dark brown calf upper/dark brown grained calf shaft

- 2102 soft chiseled last

- Norvegese welt

- Natural sole edge

- Regular width

Sole options:

- Double leather sole (metal toe taps would be an extra 400 SEK)

- Dainite sole (extra 200 SEK)

The price is 4,560 SEK ex-VAT plus 300 SEK for worldwide shipping.  This would include a double leather sole, there would be an additional cost for toe taps or Dainite as listed above.

It pretty much has to be burgundy for me. I have black covered, and think brown will be well covered by my existing Carmina suede bal boot and incoming Carmina shell captoe derby boot.

The only other bal boot colour I am after is dark navy blue, but I'd be reluctant to go with Bonafe here absent seeing an example from them. I know that a Carmina 80092 is navy shell or navy calf upper with navy suede shaft would be absolutely killer. And Vass does an outstanding navy wingtip bal boot. At present, i suspect I will go one of those two routes for navy.

Burgundy seems like a sure thing from Bonafe here - the job they did on that shoe is as good as it gets, IMO.

And of course, I will almost certainly look with envy upon the brown derby Bonafe boot being cooked up by our friends.
