I think Dark Brown is the best looking combo followed by Oak.

But if the final makeup is going to be CS "Dainite", I'll probably be out given how poorly my other non-dainite branded "dainite" soles have worn. My advice would be if you guys are going to go for something less winter boot/rugged looking and more sleek, avoid the grain lower and go for a calf leather.

Grain (in my opinion) tends to pair better with a chunkier look (e.g. victory sole)

I just heard from Carlos Santos, they offer "proper" Dainite soles from the Dainite company, so that's a relief.

My vote would go to All Oak Grain.

I have a dark brown calf/mink suede galway copy on MTO order from another maker.

How many do we need for a GMTO?

If they are able to offer a real Dainite sole in addition to their current "dainite" sole, is there any chance that they are able to source a Dainite Ridgeway sole for future GMTOs, or if there is enough interest for a true winter-boot makeup in the near future?

@Leaves , thanks for the side by side pics. Just curious, does CS offer an colored lining options?

Also, what is the payment structure? 50% down, 50% on delivery?

Is the 316 last a little more generous than the 234?

My 234 monks are a great fit in UK7 but I might want to wear thicker socks on occasion with these boots.
Can someone comment on sizing on the 316? I am a size 9D US, should I be purchasing a size 8K?

Thanks!

I thought CS didn't do MTO runs, but I guess that's not the case? http://us.skoaktiebolaget.se/pages/made-to-order

Since it seems that MTOs are possible, is there enough interest in the original boot to do another run of that? In other words, matching grain uppers and shaft, Dainite sole, 316 last.

About the last – 316 – almond shaped classic last. The general fitting advise is wearing your Carmina Rain/Soller/Detroit last. Size down half a size from your Gaziano & Girling / Edward Green size and one full size from your US size. For further fitting advise please email us at sales@skoaktiebolaget.se.

They do not do single MTOs, but they do GMTOs (minimum 8 participants required).

That was quick... definitely a great boot. Was going to try to lobby for a storm welt but I guess its too late :)

Grain + storm welt + boot = perfection! Better for wet conditions as well.

@brillopad i would be interested in the original makeup or even a makeup using calf leather on the bottom.
