Dang, those boots are awesome!  Speaking of Tärnsjö Oak, is the ETA for the Tärnsjö Oak chukkas still October?

Apart from the boot, the tarnsjo leather is great.
It has the appearance / surface texture not too dissimilar to tumbled calf (compared to say, Enzo's lama range of leathers).
But it feels significantly sturdier, and is very supple, considering it's a veg tan. It's prob some form of milled leather I guess.

I am considering picking up one of the Carmina Tärnsjö boots on Skoak right now.  Would you say that Tärnsjö is a good boot leather?  Do they keep your feet warm, hold up well in wet conditions?  Also how tough is this leather compared to calf and cordovan shell?  Do they hold up to scratches and scuffs well?  Sorry I don't know much about Tärnsjö and I really want to get my first good boot before winter.

We are expecting a partial delivery of this model in a couple of weeks and the rest hopefully in early October. This series was one of the biggest we have done from Bonafè, which can affect the leda time slightly but we will get back to all participants once we know more.

Thank you all for showing such a big interest in this model and the whole Skoak team are really happy with how this model turned out to be. Here are a summary of the GMTO ideas presented so far, to get a better overview and to see if there are any more interested member on SF. Please note that we have to limit the maximum number of participants to 6-8 people for this model on GMTO's, because of the stitching technique. Due to the fact that there goes a lot of man-hours into this style, and only one artisan in the factory can make it, this is preferred by Bonafè. The lead time will be about 6 months for this particular model. More information about swatches, lasts and other details can also be found on our website regarding the Bonafè MTO program:

It's a milled bovine leather. I had my Chukkas in Tärnsjö for about 6 months now and I have been very, very rough on them and they look great despite this. I only use Bick4 for care. Definitely great material for boots (we only use it for boots and casual styles like country derbies).

Thanks for the information!
Leaves, is this a cowhide / steerhide?
And if yes, which?
Since you use the term "bovine", I'm assuming it's not calf.

I believe it's cow, not steer. Sourced from local farms close to the tannery.

Tärnsjö leather is awesome, great for boots. Hey @Leaves how about bringing some carmina brougue boots in Tärnsjö leather. By the way is there a lineup of colors in Tärnsjö leather?

Agreed. Id love to get a GMTO of this together at some point. I've been in the market for an austerity brogue boot but wouldn't mind this setup, too.

Yessir! Burgundy - Cognac - Oak

The Burgundy is more Cherry than Burgundy to be honest, quite bright! We have a few pairs left of these, prototypes. Email us if you are interested sales@skoaktiebolaget.se
