Skoaktiebolaget - Carmina, Bonafè, Carlos Santos, Saint Crispin's, Gaziano & Girling - Official Affiliate Thread - Page 1361

Carlos Santos may fill my current shoe needs as I transition out of the break-in hell that is Meermin.

Can anyone speak to how returns work for US customers? It sounds like shipping and pricing (through the US portal on the site) is set up to accommodate US buyers nicely, but am I looking at $50 or more in shipping and fees if the shoes don't work out?

Maybe not for the Canada folks. I think it'll do some good for the US buyers.

Well this Canadian folk would much rather pay a slight premium for CS versus importing AE at full retail. But then I am not starting from the position of AE being my universe.

Edit - check that - full boat on AE is US$385, converted to the loonie is already over $530 and that's before duties and taxes. CS is even more compelling at a reduced price.

People actually pay full retail for Allen Edmonds? Thats like me going to the bay and buying jeans when I know they will go on sale eventually. happy.gif

Who pays full retail for AE? If you have, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Anyways, don't want to derail the thread. My fault for misinterpreting what was said in the email, and not realizing it was only for US customers.

Agreed it should be an option for some US buyers. I'm sure there are many that would be happy to find that middle ground between AE and Carmina. At $510 CAD, it's just not an option for me.

Of course they do. Ask Harry Rosen.

I thought it was a widely-known fact that HR is a store for people with more money than brains. If Carlos Santos was sold in HR they'd probably sell it for $1,100.

In any case, your comparing Carlos Santos shoes to AE at retail is disingenuous at best, as the latter are on sale frequently at many locations.

I won't comment on this further.

Well I think it's closer to $40 by USPS but yeah, we do not cover return shipping. I think a lot of guys buying premium shoes online takes a leap of faith and go on ours and other qualified premium retailers' sizing recommendations. Email sales@skoaktiebolaget.se please. We actually have very few returns. Shoes are great this way because when you nail your sizing on 2-3 lasts of the premium brands, it's very easy for us to recommend a size given our vast experience with fitting people both in store and online.

I heard Carmina is coming out with a new last (Buger) something in between the Simpson and Rain Last. Will you be stocking any shoes in that last?

Ok, so we have a few pairs of Edward Green left, we're clearing the last of our stock at a 30% discount.
