+1, Never understood the appeal. Maybe it's a US thing, but to me they are too shiny and characterless.

If anyone is curious; my wife is a solid US7.5M and EU38. These are UK5.5 and they fit really well. We actually tried the UK5, first, but they were too small.

Great minds, etc. Just bought a pair for my wife too. She loves them, but found them tricky to get on at first: too used to women's footwear at twice the price and a quarter the build quality.

Haha, yea...It took two of us to get them on the first time as well!

Absolutely. What held me back was that I take E width and that pair of Arran is on F width.

Beautiful boots and technically my first pair of Carmina, haha.

I think it will depend alot on the last. I bought a pair of these for my wife:

She's a slightly wide 6.5 US, 37 Euro, and the UK4 fit her well.

I bought these for my girlfriend as well, maybe about a year ago.  She really likes them.

You take EB 946 last in wide width, but not the Thorpe? I'm the opposite. Go figure...

Don't you have them shipped to the office and sneak them into the house when your wife is out (like I do)?

Yes. When Dean measured me he recommended E width and he was right. However I have been tempted to go down half a size on F width but I am afraid that shoes might be just tiny bit too short.
