Ummmmmmm...pretty sure we were discussing a shoe that YOU wanted to buy @Steel28 ! Had nothing to do with me liking shoes. LMAO

Yes but, the fact that you knew enough about shoes to carry on a discussion about shoes proves something.

Shoe geek, your a shoe geek. LOL

My last GG chukka (for now) is finally on it's way:

I'm pretty excited about it, will be my first DG70 last GG... bounce2.gif

Thank you Skoak for the great service, and GG for allowing me to use their deco black calf beached leather on a non-deco shoe (probably the last time it will happen)...

Incredible!! Looks almost space-aged. Is that really black calf?? It looks kind of purplish. I thought it was plum museum at first.

Congrats on an awesome boot!

I'm not sure how their deco black bleached leather is made now, but I have an older MTO in their original version. The old version I believe was made by actually bleaching a black crust leather:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Based on the purplish hues coming from my incoming chukka (which i like). I would guess that they are now using the pearl grey crust leather as their base, and adding to it to create this finish.

Either way, i like it. Glad everyone does too...

First time using the Fedex option to ship my incoming Galway to Australia and it was a big mistake. The shoe tree was quarantine and had to be inspected with taxes and custom charges got slugged Aud $411.00. Never had this happen with the regular post.

Even boot guys have to acquire and own shoes for certain occasions.  Like, I am going to have to buy a pair of shoes for a new suit that I bought.  But since they'll rarely see the light of day, I can't justify the top tier and will settle for a Carmina or EB, I think.

It's okay for boot guys to know a bit about shoes.  They're just not allowed to own more shoes than boots.
