We're still try to give Skoak our money, just through different makers now.

Also, from my understanding, the purpose of having affiliate threads isn't just to praise them for when we're all happy. It is also an opportunity for constructive criticism and consumer feedback.

Otherwise the company would not have a realistic pulse on their customers from which they are to draw conclusions upon in case they are interested in improving, which I think a transparent and CS-oriented company like Skoak is. I don't think anybody is indicting Skoak here and we all understand that this is coming from the manufacturer's end.

I agree about affiliate threads, but this wasn't their bad. I know no one here blames them, but it must suck for them to see people posting that they're canceling their purchase plans.

I find it funny that so many people are posting about no one is blaming them, but they are blameless anyway....when no one is blaming them

Is something similar happening with Carmina? And if so, when?

No time lines as of yet but most probley end of year it's a guess most brand follow the trend.

For those of us in the US, we were pretty lucky the last couple of years due to the strength in the dollar. This was not going to last forever. Skoak has been tremendous to work with. Moreover, it's not like we have a ton of alternatives here in the US for EG. While I may not like to have to pay $300+ more for the same pair of shoes, if I am going to buy EG, there is no other place I'd rather get them from.

P.S. Glad I was in on the Galway restock from earlier this year.

Guys,
let's stop venting all right. Businesses have right to set their prices and price discriminate, they do that all the time. Remember how Amazon used to charge people with Apple computers more than people with Windows based machines. Price discrimination is as old as commerce.

Now how about some Bonafe GMTO?

As a full disclosure I am too @tifosi glad I made my hay while sun was shining.

I am very relieved I got my first EGs (Galways) before all this happened.  I looked at the price list and I don't think I could have mentally gone forward with my MTO at those prices. I truly feel for Skoak as this is all something that is totally out of their control.  I do plan to continue to do business with them but probably next with Carmina.

To be honest, I want to wear my Galways every day.  Maybe if I keep seeing the new prices frequently enough, the shock effect will wear off and I might be able to swallow the new pricing model for EG.
