You can make it on any last you want.

Why is it that Bonafé can do any pattern on any last, but Carmina can't? (or is it just this model that they can do on any last?)

Regardless, it seems that Alden is able to use the same patterns on multiple lasts.

Is it just that Carmina chooses not to? They are pretty accommodating in general, so that would seem out of character.

*I acknowledge that there are a few Carmina patterns that are done on multiple lasts, but if you ask for it via MTO, they say they can't do it.

Clear sign that I buy way too many shoes from you when I can now do that conversion in my head! Lol

I was thinking the same exact thing! I relate it in terms of Galways. That's about 1/2 an option 1 MTO Galway. LOL.

Ha ha, yeah. It's about $596 USD with today's currency exchange rate. That's a good price for a hand welted boot, no doubt.

If you look at the makers that will do a style on any last, they are small makers like Enzo Bonafé and Gaziano & Girling. If you look at the ones that won't, like Edward Green and Carmina, they run large volume operations. I guess it has to do with the fact that higher volume makers need to keep a leaner production line while the small makers can be more flexible. Carmina can usually transfer styles to a different last if the shapes are similar, like Rain and Simpson, and Forest and Robert, but not when it's, say Detroit to Simpson. Bonafé in general are very accommodating with pattern changes and modifications, it's just the way they have always done things.

Carreducker just did a good post on this http://carreducker.blogspot.ch/2014/11/shape-matters.html

On similar lasts this should not be a problem, but different last types could require a new pattern.

I suspected as much as well, it is GG's most expensive RTW model by far. Maybe we can revisit this in the near future?

Here is a thought, maybe we can ask GG if they are willing to make their old 3 piece boot trees for this Burnham GMTO... :hide:

In my opinion EG even makes CC look beautiful. Great idea @tifosi , and excellent service once again from Skoaktiebolaget.

Since I don't have a Mahogany dialed watch I thought this one might work.

But with all this talk from @Leaves about Paul Newman, I thought I might wear this one as well. I know it isn't a Paul Newman, but I think it will work.
