Lobb's classic make ups are amazing. I would love the philip II boot is incredible. I also love St.C's leather options it would be a win/win either way for me.

I hoping for something cheaper than 1k.

^^ I think Loewe sources their own leathers, might be specific for them.

What does the Burgol Shoe Cream cost? (Including vat)

I need to wear them each a few times and then I'll be able to better comment on fit. Although I'd also defer to Leaves on the specifications as he is much more knowledgeable than me on this subject. I think so often the model of shoe can have as much to do with things. I have a pair of Carmina double monks on the Rain last in their rusticalf which is very soft and supple so it fits really well. But I've worn other pairs of Carmina's on the Rain last which felt a bit too tight in the mid-foot, so definitely seems to be varying factors other than just the last.

you are right in that the type of leather can have a larger effect on the fit than expected. In some cases the leather can't be pulled as tightly on the last, like in shell cordovan / cup, so the fit can be looser.

I would agree with that statement. Shell cordovan is a tough type of leather and can be considerably less forgiving, resulting in a much poorer fit than a shoe in say calf leather on the same last and in the same size.

There is a lot of enthusiasm for shell products on these fora. I say Caveat Emptor; fit can disappoint.

Also, to the extent that fit is not very good, given how tough the leather is, trying to break these shoes in will be hell and can wreak havoc on your feet. My 2 cents.

Burgol Shoe Cream is 150 SEK but is only available in our brick and mortar store as we do not ship glass containers.

Hmmm. It's not Lobb - that would be too obvious. And Alden doesn't fit quite right in Skoaks style imo. However, if my eyes aren't letting me down, there seem to be a bunch of leather swatches on the left side of the second shelf that I think look rather familiar. Now, where have I seen a bunch like that before...? wink.gif
