I go from blessing to curse, but at those prices... I wish 6.5/7E will be on future stock

Those maple monks are awesome...

Though a great aficionado of the EG Westminster myself, I never got to quite apprehend why people would buy them in Maple color.
So, with all due respect, could you enlighten me as to why you find them 'special'?

Thanks!

Been wanting a pair in the maple to Edwardian color range. I like the contrast and find the lighter shades tend to antique well after a few years (and maybe because I already have tons of shoes in black, dark oak, etc.). Good summer color for me.

An iphone pic of my newly acquired Asquith straight from the box :)

/Christian

Far better catch than my beauties. So gorgeous.

I might be the only one here but is anyone else strongly against most wing-tips? My first pair of shoes for business were wing-tip open laced and I can't seem to get anything else either wing-tipped or derby-laced. I don't like either. Cap-toes and closed laces are where it's at. I'd wear the same pear in ruby red, burgundy, brown and light tan.

eta: Bitchin' trees too, Christian. I use Woodlore Epics and want to start getting these but they're a lot of money for me for shoe trees.

Best pics I could do for now, just got these in the mail from Skoak today, first pair of Carmina! The Armoury last fits me great, glad I picked these up.
Do you have any Simpson last shoes? Can you do a side by side comparison from the overhead, side, and front view of the caps?

Armoury might be the best looking last. I want the single monks on the Armoury site so bad.

edit: I'm such a moron. Re-read your post after I drank my coffee.

I am very fond of Skoaktiebolaget's trees. I have a complete set of colors now :) I do agree though, they add quite a chunk of money to the shoe cost...

On a side note, how are we doing on the Austerity brogue MTO?

I sent everyone involved a very sad PM a few minutes ago.

Unfortunately we were up to 6 but we are now down to 4. Looks like we'll have to wait and pitch this again soon enough.

Maybe it's a good thing we have to wait as Leaves and Steve Yoo just stole a good chunk of my money.

Ha, no problem. I'll probably try something on the Simpson next, so I'll be able to do a comparison after that. Might be a while before I get my next pair though.

Personally I would buy them to antique them myself. By using many different shades of polish and wax you can get a truly amazing and deep colour!

Are there any customs for US customers ordering from skoak?

I didn't have any kind of customs, duties, or taxes on the shoes I got from Skoak earlier this week. I live in FL.
