Never really thought about Split Toes before, but I think the pair on the right may be my next.

I do like the split toe. What color would you get?

I definitely want a navy antiqued shoe what style you think would be best?
Good question, I would probably go with a medium brown color for the split toe, I need another one that color in my shoe wardrobe.

For Navy, given that it is such a unique color I would think a double monk would look good. Tassels HK sells a pair in Navy that looks great, here are some pics. Here is also a pair in Antique Grey that would work in Antique Navy I think.

That antiqued grey is beautiful. I'm excited cause that's what my boots are supposed to look like.

The double monk might be an option. Not sure if I'd do a medallion though.

Here is a derby in Navy that looks good as well.

To follow up on the resole situation, here's what I got from Lewis at Bontoni:

Quote:
We are in the process of vetting different cobblers around the U.S. to manage this in the U.S.  The goal is to have 1-2 authorized Bontoni cobblers here in the U.S. We do provide resoling service in Italy. However, the logistics and costs of sending the shoes back and forth isn't the most effecient way to manage this.

Though I'm planning on seeing them at Wilkes in a month, I'm leaning towards going with my local guy with some serious oversight. I'll let you know how it goes.

Derby looks cool. Looks like my tan ones I just got. I would even consider the split toe you like in navy.

Yes definitely that would work as well. Lots of options.

I guess I'll see what Franco suggests when trunk show happens. Only 1-2 shoes this time around. It takes a nice chunk out of my account haha

I hear you, let us know what Franco says. I guess the best part of ordering from Bontoni is that no down payment is required so you can order a pair and then save up for five months LOL.

I was totally gonna do that then I ended up spending my bontoni fund on other crap

I have done that before too! Well all this Bontoni talk got me excited so I just placed an order for the Split Toe in a mid brown color. Now that I am back in LA I can't make it to Seattle or SF for the trunk shows so I just emailed in the order. HAHAHA.

That's great, I can't wait to see your boots, I'm sure they are sweet.

Yes, I use an SA at Marios in Seattle, I usually just email him my order along with pictures of what I want and he places the order with Lewis (the other owner). Easy peasy.
