I finally found a shoe that fits me well. My two pair:

I think this would be pretty sweet in Navy. I had been thinking about my next project and it might be it

Never really thought about Split Toes before, but I think the pair on the right may be my next.

Good question, I would probably go with a medium brown color for the split toe, I need another one that color in my shoe wardrobe.

For Navy, given that it is such a unique color I would think a double monk would look good. Tassels HK sells a pair in Navy that looks great, here are some pics. Here is also a pair in Antique Grey that would work in Antique Navy I think.

To follow up on the resole situation, here's what I got from Lewis at Bontoni:

Though I'm planning on seeing them at Wilkes in a month, I'm leaning towards going with my local guy with some serious oversight. I'll let you know how it goes.

I hear you, let us know what Franco says. I guess the best part of ordering from Bontoni is that no down payment is required so you can order a pair and then save up for five months LOL.

I have done that before too! Well all this Bontoni talk got me excited so I just placed an order for the Split Toe in a mid brown color. Now that I am back in LA I can't make it to Seattle or SF for the trunk shows so I just emailed in the order. HAHAHA.

That's great, I can't wait to see your boots, I'm sure they are sweet.

Yes, I use an SA at Marios in Seattle, I usually just email him my order along with pictures of what I want and he places the order with Lewis (the other owner). Easy peasy.
