Italian 2-button collar rtw shirts

I've got a shirt by Enrico Ventura that is made in Italy and has a tall, two button spread collar. This collar works well with my neck and face and I was hoping I could find more shirts in this style. What are some high-quality options? Thanks.

Barba definitely makes this collar option, as does Borrelli, I believe.

Thanks aportnoy...I just found some on shopthefinest. Just what I was looking for!

I'm also a big fan of the high two-button spread collar but since it sounds like you're going to be wearing bespoke suits, you may want to think twice about loading up on RTW shirts with armholes much lower than the armholes on your suits.

Thanks Cantabrigian, I didn't think about that. Do you think a Barba shirt might be a little trimmer than most rtw shirts? Or if the armholes were a little bigger would I notice it that much? Maybe I should just get a shirtmaker to copy this style of collar. I kind of like the idea of getting good shirts for around $120 bucks of ebay/shopthefinest though! Also, it's not that I'm partial to the two button style I just find that the front of the collar kind of collapses a bit when using a single button (this being due to my need for 2 inch high collars). Additionally, I like the solid construction of the collar on my Enrico Venturi. The collar is thick but not stiff. I don't know what to call it.. Oh yea also...do you get these sort of shirts bespoke? If so who makes them for you? I'm guessing most makers could perform this feat just fine, but the collar construction is something I haven't seen in any of my mtm or rtw shirts yet.

Kuhlman is still doing two button collars.

Thanks...what is your opinion on the quality of their shirts?

for $35-$40 they are fine. Made in a decent factory in Turkey from decent turkish fabric.
You do not need to pay full price for them.

They do seem a touch boxy in fit.

Okay thanks. I just called a local tailor today about taking in the body of a shirt and he said that he can and does do it...so the boxiness might not be too much of an issue.

In my limited experience, I've found the average RTW shirt armhole to be noticeably lower than even the average RTW suit armhole so I imagine that it's not even going to be close with a bespoke suit. That said, I have no experience with Barba or Borrelli. I was considering getting a couple of Borrelli linen shirts from STF but decided instead to get them from Geneva.

Any bespoke shirtmaker should be able to do a decent job on a 2-button collar. It's a pretty standard thing or so it seems.

I don't know how many - if any - shirtmakers there are in ATL. It looks like Hemrajani stops by there. Will has spoken highly of their work. So far I've gotten a sample shirt from them and they did some things well and some things not so well. I gave two more shirts left on the initial order to see if they can be a decent alternative.

So does Zara, and boxiness isn't an issue with their shirts.

Thanks. I too have one shirt from mytailor.com. Hemrajani didn't measure me but one of his employees/associates did. The shirt has armholes bigger and deeper than any shirt I own, including rtw (I'm being dead serious). The collar feels like a thin combination of plastic and paper. The buttons are thin pieces of cheap plastic. The chest, waist and collar shape were done well though. I guess I could try them again and point out the problems with my first shirt and see if they have another way they can construct the collar. edit: I just checked the mytailor website and a different mytailor representative will be in Atlanta at the beginning of May. I think I'll try him out and see if he does any better (the first guy I tried was unhelpful and uninterested at best). I'll also use a Thomas Mason fabric this time.

I have a Canali shirt with the collar you describe. I bought it about a year ago, I guess. Pretty blousy, though.

The Borrellis made for the European market are much slimmer than the ones made for the U.S. The ones on Yoox, for example, are nicely slim, with decently high armholes, in my somewhat limited experience.

Most of my Jantzen shirts have this collar

Member bryce 330 sold me an Attolini that is just as you describe and it's a solid favorite in my rotation.
