Are you looking for measurements?

Crew socks end 2-4 inches above the ankle. Calf socks end just below your knee.

In the dress sock genre, "crew" socks are termed "mid-calf" or "long anklet".

"Calf" socks are properly called "Over-the-Calf", usually "O.T.C."

"Crew" socks signifies sport or athletic socks.

Where any of the above finish really depends upon your height. OTC socks are presumed to end just below the knee.

I trying to understand socks lengths, it turns out like this:
  • Hidden
  • Ankle Socks
  • Crew Socks / Sport Socks
  • Over the Calf / Trouser Socks (Dress Socks) / Below the Knee
  • Over the knee

So turns out Crew and Sport socks are the same length, just different purpose/quality.

And Over the Calf and Trouser Socks and Below the Knee are actually same length to as i understand Over the Calf and Below the Knee are just same socks for same purpose that can come in different colors, when Trouser Socks are made for formal suit and usually black?

Also whats Ped Socks and is Hidden and Ankle same socks as well?

Hidden or no-show: short enough that they are completely covered by a shoe.

Ankle socks have a band around the ankle.

Crew socks go partway up the calf. Most dress socks you get are around this length as well.

Over the calf go, well, over the calf... helping them stay up.

Over the knee I've never seen for guys, but I do approve of them for girls along with thigh-highs.

I don't think "trouser socks" refers to a standard length, but I'm sure they are at least below-calf length, not short. It's more a marketing term than a specific size IME.

Ped socks I'm not sure about but I'm guessing they are hidden/no-show as well. But no guarantees.

Yes, I've seen men's no show dress-ish socks. They are meant for wearing with e.g. boat shoes, or other loafers where you want the look of no sock.

ya i've seen these insanely weird looking low cut socks at nordstroms...i guess that's when normal no-show socks are too high for vans slip-ons or dress shoes

Do they have a little fluffy ball at the back?
