John Lobb Appreciation Thread - Page 29

Can anyone tell me whether I can order a pair of 2008 in the 8000 last?

I think an 8000 last 2008 in Noisette museum calf with toe nails (no steel toe cap) and with a natural sole (no sole dyes) would look really really stunning.

Could ask, but I don't think so. JL doesn't let you pick the last for MTO. Only leather and sole.

Anyone have a shoe in the color "teage" (or something like that) which is like a mid brown? Curious to see a pic... Thanks!

Hi guys, looking to buy a pair of City II, just wondering did you guys have to size down half a size on the 7000 last compare to other UK makers.

I have G & G MH71 6.5E, EG 82 6.5E, C & J Audley 6.5E, and AS Armfield 6.5E, was recommended to go down to 6 from Leathersoul, but I rather have slightly loose shoes than shoes that are too tight...

I've found that JL 7000/8000 are one size down - ie I wear UK9 in JL and am usually a US10D

For some reason I didn't know we wear the same size. I'd go 6E. 6.5E (TG73 & DG70) are nice and fitted. EG 6.5E (82/888) is a great balanced fit for me.

Interestingly, I wear 6E on both C&J 337 and AS 109.

Hope this helps!

I bought this pair of Williams' off another forum member about a week ago. Thought I would share the results with you after I've been over them with some reno, cream and polish. Enjoy! smile.gif

+1. Most JL is size down 1 size, 1/2 size from EG & GG

I'm trying to catch up on the 'SHIGEMATSU' discussion. What's so special about it? i.e., why is it 8k?

I dont understand.

I thought a US10 was a UK9.... approximately, which would imply that you wear the same size or 1/2 size down.

Anyways.

I snapped a crappy picture of my UK7 EG 888,  UK7 JL 8000 and UK6 1/2 CJ 337 side by side and tried to align them as accurately as possible.

I am a solid UK 6 1/2 for CJ and can wear UK 6 1/2 for EG (really tight), but I prefer UK7, for JL 8000 (which is the only last I have) I can only wear UK7, UK 6 1/2 for JL 8000 is definitely too small. I initially just mailed this picture to wurger, but realized that someone else might be interested in this as well.
