It was by request (i wear wide) and supposed to be misty. Ended up getting the regular calf. Not sure if it was just made wrong or they packed someone elses shoes in my box. I ended up keeping them at a discount as opposed to having them remade and wait another 4-6mos.

Just got confirmation from JL SCP that my warwicks on parisian brown museum are on the way.

Just in time for summer weather

Love the wingtip and I need one in my rotation! These look very cool. I am considering them for quite some time.

Still not sure if I should go with Warwick or Edward Green Beaulieu .. I am gravitating toward the JL due to seamless heel these have as they belong to the prestige line I believe, but not sure about the 7000 last they are made on for this style .. Still have a odd feeling it's a bit more elongated than I would like it to be. But than again I am the type of person who loves EG 202 last most!

I do also like the EG 202 and its pretty much the only last I buy in EG, as i usually MTO everything on the 202 if it is not already made on it.

Yea the 7000 is def elongated compared to the EG 202. Side by side a 8uk 7000 Lobb is actually longer than the 8.5EG 202 that I have.

That being said I think the 7000 is elongated but very tasefully done and proportional so it does not appear as pointy as some of the other makers. I personally like it better than the EG 82.

Overall a tough choice as I am sure you cant go wrong with either and really comes down to preference.

Personally I like Lobb when the shoes dont have a lot of broguing because their lasts are very elegant and tasteful

When there is a lot of broguing I do like EG on the 202 (inverness, falkirk, sandringham etc..)

For the austerity wingtip I do find the Warwick more attractive on the JL lasts and I did also want it on the parisian brown museum which I would not be able to get with EG.

because this is on the prestige line the EG top drawer shoes may be a better comparison as the waist and sole treatment is more similar than the regular lines. The regular EG shoes and the regular Lobb shoes are more comparable. I do have a couple of EG top drawers on the way but as of now I cant directly compare the two from my own experience.

In addition keep in mind that I wear a EE in Lobb but E in EG so the elongation is more blunted aesthetically (fit wise it is still elongated)

coldinboston for some reason I thought you took normal E 8uk on 7000 last
post #4118 of 4399

I can wear 8.5E but I feel the shoe is too long

I can squeeze into 8.0 but not ideal.

8EE hits the spot for oxfords

I can probably do 8E for derbies on the 8695 but not oxfords on the 7000

Lobb sizing i feel was a little more complicated that EG where I can wear 202 on 8.5 for everything (i do MTO extra instep on the oxfords but I can wear them even without)

if you can wear those GG oxfords with the laces almost completely close you will be swimming in the 7000 as it has much more instep room than any GG last

Dam it but thank you EE I take in carmina Detroit last 8uk which is big as hell to begin with I guess I will have to give it another try for lob. Too high of a instep don't work with me sadly.

If u size 1/2 down from EG it should work out well.
The 8000 is also a little less roomy than the 7000.
There is also an even sleeker last the 2511 I believe but I dont have any experience with it.

For the love of god just buy a plane ticket to NYC go to leffot and try all the shoes out. It would cost you a few hundred bucks but all the angst it would save you about shoe sizing would be priceless

Hellos,

Could anyone tell me JL itself shoes tree is worthy?

I known that G&G shoes are much more expensive, but they provide multiple kind shoes trees contrast to different lasts.
