Third time wearing the Sauntons. Still have yet to give them serious pavement duty, as I'm still considering adding rubber toe tips. I suppose I should decide soon, as they're too comfortable not to wear more vigorously.

This is Darby 2?  I like these and was thinking getting in black.  I want to wear with a suit, what do you think for black darby 2 with suit.

This is 7000 last?  Looks close to Phillip 2

Yes darby ii (imo better than iii).
There is an SF bias against black shoes, but i personally think that you cant really go wrong with black shoes, oxfords or derbies, and a suit and I do routinely have black shoes in my rotation. A suit and a pair of black darby iis would be a good combo, and something i would wear myself. You can do black museum or misty if you want something different. I typically like the museum leather but for black misty probably works a little better.

Saunton is on the 7000 last, not prestige like the phillip ii, and has more broguing overall and a medallion i believe on the toe cap.

Never really understood why one could not wear derby shoes with suits nowadays.  I mean I see James Bond doing it. Haha.

Yeah, 7000 last. But not prestige. Gives me an excellent fit. I hope to get another shoe on this last soon.

Yea nothing wrong with it IMO.

Of course it always depends on the kind of suit and how casual the derbies are, but even then they would really have to be mismatched to look off.

@peppercorn78 . Just FYI, as I dont know how many Lobbs you have tried and how this Saunton fits you but the 7000 on the prestige shoes does fit tigther than the regular shoes. i am not sure if its the more sculpted waist but they do fit noticeably snugger

Now that I finally have my hands on these.. Bracken Misty is a very nice color. Rich Brown with reddish undertones.

Thanks, man. Just these and Williams. If they're just tighter in the waist, then that would be a plus for me, as long as the ball and toebox width is the same, I'll be good.

Reminds me of Crockett and Jones Skye boots but more refined.  Awesome.

Question, which sole option did you choose?
