This may be a novice question but are all shoes/boots under the name William the same last? The website doesn't clarify. I'm going to visit the London store and i plan on trying on the 7,000 , 2511 and William lasts.

Going from memory but my William is on the 8695? The 7K is a sleeker round toe compared to the William.

Nope, William is on 9795. Dunno about the boots though.

Thanks guys, I'm looking for buckle shoes so i'll decided between Cambereley (2511) and probably William 2 (9795) depending on fit. Might go for 'by request' if i find something that blows my mind.

William II by far IMHO. Much better proportions .. Imagine them in a Antiqued Chelmer Ultra Calf MTO from a photo bellow.. That's pretty much mind blowing

Do you find the JL 7000 last to be pointy or a bit elongated now?

After comparing it to the EG 202, or even 82, it really does appear to me- to the point it looks like most of the Italian shoes ..

Perhaps, my taste is changed in the meanwhile ..

I would say the 7K is comparable to EG's 82. I don't find it to be anywhere as pointy as G&G or any Italian-inspired lasts.

I find 7000 much wider than 82 for the same size. But I don't think it is pointy at all.

Just found this while lurking for some lasts comparison .. 7000 last is definitely too pointy and sleek for me now, even compared to EG82 ..
