About me? I am 31 years old and work in the finance field as a mid level manager. I manage 5 people directly so looking somewhat like a manager would be something to consider. But I don't want to dress in boxy suits. I am 6' ft and 165lbs. I guess I am a slim built. I wear 38r at Zegna and 40r for RLBL but need to trim the pants since they're too big. Hope this is enough. I almost got a charcoal grey suit but wanted to try something a bit more stylish.
As far as suit colors are concerned, you're relatively limited. Navy, charcoal, mid grey and the like are classic staples for a very good reason. If you want to add a but of variety, try chalk stripes or pinstripes on these color backgrounds, or perhaps a windowpane. It's a lot easier to add some visual interest with the right shirt and tie, IMO, if for no other reason than shirts and ties are so much cheaper than suits. Use your best judgment with respect to what combinations will work in your office, but I really wouldn't try to get too creative with your suits at this point.
As for ties and a white shirt (asked about in another post), check out this thread:
