Do the current PNS and NS raw indigo pairs fit the same in the waist for a given size?
It has been a long time since I've worn APC jeans but from what I remember: The NS have a "old school" rise, meaning they are wear higher up -they jean is closer to the belly button. PNS have a lower rise. From what I can tell, the lower the rise, the smaller the true waist is. good luck!

Should I size down for the Martin style? I want to wear it high-rise.

I ordered a pair of the A.P.C. Jean Standard to compare to the the L'Etiquette collab pair ('Le Jean').

Both are a size 35.
  • Other than the Jean Standard being selvedge, they do appear to use the same denim (although the denim has a different handfeel to what I remember from circa 2016).
  • As for fit, the Jean Standard and Le Jean have the same front rise, but the former has about a 1.5 cm lower back rise, as well as a looser leg and 1 cm wider hem. The Le Jean has about a 32 cm front and 43 cm back rise, with a 21 cm hem, on a size 35.
  • As I suspected, the waist of the collab pair has been doubled for reinforcement. So far (in 4-5 days of wear) this means less immediate stretch than I'm used to with A.P.C.
  • As noted previously, Le Jean has shallow hip pockets; the Jean Standard has normal depth pockets.
  • The double chain stitch on the inseam of the Le Jean is gold and gold, whereas on the Jean Standard the seam is held by one row of gold and one row of navy chainstitch.
  • Le Jean is zip fly, Jean Standard button
  • Hardware is the same between the two.
  • Le Jean has the paper back patch.
