I have a question about soaking/washing.. my jeans don't smell particularly bad or anything, but I have been wearing my NS on and off for the past 8 months or so and I haven't really been getting many fades, and pretty much every day these past 4. I've heard soaking them can speed up the fading process, but I have also heard that the longer you wait before soaking/washing the better the fades. So where's the in between?

Here's my NS... no wash no soak

Yeah they're probably gonna really start showing after first soak or two. Looks like they might be ready. If they're clean and don't smell you should hold out for a little while longer and it'll totally be worth it.

Did the measurement for APC PS change this year, or is context clothing measurement off ?

When i bought my indigo PS last year, it was tagged 30 (measured 32" across), referenced from contextclothing.com

So which is the correct measurement ? lol

My NS measurements varied slightly compared to context's... but that was the leg opening and knee

the context measurements are not accurate.

they were accurate for my PS which were not ordered form them

Really?  I was under the impression that denim doesn't really stretch so much in the thigh normally.  My APC's are pretty tight in the thigh still and I've probably had them a month or so.

Yeah, they probably don't stretch much. I lost weight which is most likely the reason! The most the thigh would stretch would be very minimal, maybe .25-.5". I think I need to size down to size 30 PS now...

Buying another pair of APC PS as I've yet to find such a good cut/weight/fading.

Also about to kop a pair of APC PS in the true black from TBS. Are these the same sizing as the regular PS and do they stretch/fade in the same way? Anyone have pics?

The blacks won't fade -the raws or the mij's. Sizing is the same, although they're both slightly tighter and don't seem to stretch as much. They don't warrant a size change from your indigo raws, imo.

figured. So the waist measures 2" more than the tagged size then? ie the 30 has a waist of 32"?

Yeah, mine aren't quite too tight but still just barely avoiding jegging status.  I'm hoping they'll stretch a tad bit more.

As far as hemming - will it look weird if I do a normal stitch and not a chainstitch? Can I just do the inseam I want + 2" for shrinkage or should I wash them first?
