in my opinion, PS is a closer fit because of the taper. but for reference if you are considering NS, I wear 28/29 in WG (depending on which pair), 29 in PS, and 28 in NS.

Gotcha.

I don't like slim/straight (I had NS before but screwed up the sizing), my thighs look like sausage casings and if I size up enough for them to fit the leg opening and waist is too big.

Might try PS when I get the chance. I'm a 34 waist in pretty much everything (N&F WG, chinos/shorts etc).

Thanks for the reply. I hope everything I am hearing is right. I can barely breath with these jeans on and barely button them. I can't even really button the crotch buttons. Is that standard?

So when do you wash the jeans?

If I want the jeans to fit similar to these from JCrew's website what's the suggestion?

I wear a 31 in 484's and JBrand and Diesel. I don't want a supper baggy fit with the denim. I want a more clean fit such as that in picture. I like my jeans slimmer cut but straight fitting. Are APC New Standards the right jean? I enjoy 484, but for some reason I can't justify paying $150 or $225 for a pair of JCrew jeans.

I realize I will probably need to shorten the jeans as they run a little long.

Sorry about the miscommunication but I asked Are APC New Standards the right jean? Meaning, will the fit correctly. Do you think they will fit like 484?
