Please help out a newbie on making his first APC purchase.

I have a nudie slim jim tagged 30/32, which fits quite tight on me right now. While I can fit into these and walk around in them, but sitting down in them for a prolonged period would be a bit of a challenge. I only wore those for about 6-7 times.

I do like the fit of the slim jims though. I'd like to have my APCs fit similarly but have slightly more room. Any advice on what fit I should get for the APCs and what size?

Thanks!

Just received my New Cure's in the mail.  They are a 30, I usually wear a 32 or 33.  I had to struggle for almost 10 minutes to get them buttoned up.  From what I've read, this means they are the proper waist.  What I'm worried about is the thigh.  They are skin tight from the knee up.  Will this stretch?  Is this ok?  Will this look feminine?

Also, would it look ok to wear these with boots?

Seems you might need to size up 1. Too personal to ask your thigh measurement?

My NC's sz 29 should arrive tomorrow and I'm worried based on your post they are going to be too small. I'm normally a 31 waist.

I'm going to start to pray now....

No it's not too personal, but I have never taken any measurements.  I'm trying to exchange them for some NS, I'm thinking the main problem is that the cut doesn't work for me.

Anyway tried the lockie cardigan last week (sup mellow if you're reading this) and the M fit really strange. Wondering if due to the boxy nature I should have tried the L to see if it was more appropriately cut ie. ervell.
Kind of redundant at this point since I got the +j ones now.

the top of the thighs fade i'd imagine hes doing some work on a farm with those jeans and wiping off the dirt on his hands on the jeans across his thighs. this would give the dirt on his thighs look and the fade up there. unless he was really dumb and just rolling around some dirt when he went on a hike or something.

So I measured my favorite pair of pants (khakis, not jeans).

Waist: 30”

Rise: 10.25”

Thigh: 10.5”

Knee: 8”

Leg opening: 7”

I hope to try them on in-person to make sure, but looking at measurements online for the various APC models - New Standard in 27 probably the way to go?

I don't know guys. I think they will stretch if over time. I had a pair of PS size 30 and they were skin tight at thighs first, then over a couple of months they stretched out quite nicely. What was kind of weird was the stretching increased in the thighs after I gave the jeans a soak. I think you could swing the fit if you are okay with kind of tight thighs for a while.

After struggling with PS sized down two for four months, I finally said fuck these and bought a pair of TTS NS.  Fit is noticeably better.  I don't know why anyone would ever buy skin tight jeans.

Also, on a side note, for people who want to buy the "correct" size jeans, APC says to size down no more then 1.  For if you are typically a 30, but a size 29.

The only tricky part is the vanity sizing. For example if you were a true waist size 30, and to size down one would be size 29. If you were buying New Cures, since they are vanity sized, a tagged 28 is actually a 30 inch waist, so one more down would be tagged 27 would be actual size 29. I got these measurements from Context. Is this how the sizing works?

Yes, vanity sized. For example, my PS 28 measured 30" brand new, 15" across. It now measures about 15.5 - 16 across. The amount of stretching seems overstated. I really don't see how people are getting 3+ inches of stretch in the waist.
