And if anyone is intrested I can do a Dior vs APC fit comparison since I have some 19cms, 17.5cms, NC and PS (soon).

YES. id really appreciate pics asap!! haha no rush, but i want to decide on a pair of raws and nooo clue if i should go for apc ps or apc nc, but then again im also veryyyyy curious about dior 19cms!

Do APC jeans have more or less taper than the Naked and Famous Weirdguy cut?
Depends on the APC model?

The petit standards I think have a bit more.

Question for ya....
I got a pair of New Standards 2 years ago, love 'em. They started out dressy looking and now have that perfect somewhat faded look. I just washed them for the first time (23 months) but at about 18 months the material between the legs where the inner thigh seam meets (to be blunt: under my ball sack) started to get thin. I now have 2 small holes where the material that was getting thin finally gave. I still wear them cause theyre my favorite jeans and its not noticeable, but their days are numbered.
Its not the money here, I dont mind spending a couple hundred dollars and getting a good couple years of constant use out of something but it does suck to have to get rid of a pair of jeans when they are just getting to the point you were aiming for. Im guessing my thighs are too fat, or more likely my balls are too big icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif.

Ya think this will happen again if I get another pair of NS? Should I go for a tougher pair of raw jeans next to avoid this from happening? What gauge/ thickness (unsure of the term) is the NS denim, maybe Ill go thicker/ tougher on my next pair of raw....

This will happen again. APC raw denim is good but obviously not the very best. You should be buying the NS for the cut not necessarily the quality (although it's far from bad). Oh, and quite a few people have that issue fixed at their tailors. Not a big issue.

On a side note, I just picked up a pair of made-in-japan APCs (PS black selvedge) and the quality seems a step up from my raw made-in-macao NS. In fact, they've become my favorite jeans over a couple Diors after a brief period of worry that they're too tight.

Thanks for the quick reply...
Anyone have any recommendations on a jean that fits similar to the New Standard but the denim quality is better, even if high priced?

I've heard good things about kicking mule workshop, sugarcane, and flat head. Im not 100% sure about the quality, but check those brands out.

Wash more, problem solved. If you're being adventurous, you might try 3sixteen...APC-esque cut and often recommended to folks looking for something more substantial.

Higher quality does not guarantee crotch blowout prevention, in fact it barely has anything to do with it. Speaking of quality, it's subjective at best...

If you buy a pair of New Cures in the same size as your New Standards how will it fit?
Well obviously the waist should be the same, but the cut of the jeans is completely different. NS are much less tapered below the knee but do have relatively tight thigh. NC are a skinny fit, they will be tight thigh with biig taper from knee to below. Im just making assumptions based on what sites about the cuts of the jeans says though, I could be wrong.

Just got my made in Japan, Black MIJ PS in the mail from TBS. WOW. This denim is gorgeous. I ordered them on thursday night and they got here on monday morning from sweden. I decided to go with the same size as my indigo PS (29). They are very tight, but im sure they will stretch out to become quite comfortable. I will post pictures of the denim tomorrow. If anyone is on the fence about these.. Go for it, theyre beautiful.

Regarding the quality of APC denim - yeah: you're going to get significant holes/abrasions at around the year and a bit mark, depending on how hard you wear them. Just the nature of the denim.

Personally, I love this aspect. I rather like the idea of wearing a pair of New Standard's to breaking, fixing them up, wearing them to breaking, fixing them up - two or three times. A pair of jeans that have been repaired again and again are a real thing of beauty. Labour of love, if you will. I don't want any denim tougher than this, thank you very much. Different strokes, of course. smile.gif

Seconded. Mine are my new favorite jeans. They stretched just a bit, but quite nicely. I didn't have a problem buttoning them but the legs are obviously very tight so some stretch was welcome.
