Okay, I am assuming that you wear your RRDS pretty tight, right? If the 32 RRDS are tight on you, you probably want to go with a 30 in the APC NS for a really tight fit.

The NS will be worn slim in a aesthetically pleasing way, but not nut-crushing tight as I do not like discomfort. Have already decided on a size 31. For reference, I wear both 32 in RRDS and Julian Red Calis. The Calis fit 3 on Brian's scale, the RRs a 5. I'm looking for a 3-4 with the NS (will be worn low and slouchy) Thanks Fok.

I feel sorry asking another question about New Standards, but I took some photos so hope it's easier. First pic is me wearing Earnest Sewn Filson, size 30. They fit comfortably around the waist. The second pic is Helmut Lang bootcut jeans, size 29. They fit somewhat tight around the waist and thighs but do not pose any threat to my sperm count.. Basically I like how both jeans fit. I slightly prefer the slightly tighter fit of Helmut Lang, but I would take either fit. So what size in New Standards? 28 or 29? Actually I already placed an order for 29 but e-mailed asking to change it to 28. I haven't got a response, but if you guys recommend 29 I'll be e-mailing them again. I hope APC customer service guys are patient and kind

well, I meant the not buttoning up thing because if everyone wants a tight fit, and they're order 2 sizes down than their normal tight fitted jeans..how the hell do they get them to button up in the first place!?

the one store in the city i thought sold new standards don't sell them, so i'd have to order online.

just a quickie, sure its been answered. my apc new standards in the faded wash, the stoney blue, are the best fitting jeans ive ever worn. loose, comfy, but with great shape and nice taper. They are soft and size 31.
for the raw version, what size should i get if i want the exact same fit and comfort.
it would be so easy if it was just 31 also, but should i size up or down to take into account stretch.

what are you in most other jeans? diesel, or other more mainstream stuff? i'd recommend 30, as the washed APC is slightly larger.

I am 31", maybe *very* slightly larger, at the biggest part of my hips, and my waist these days tapers down to a 29. I've always worn my jeans anti-fit, and these days, that means a size 31 or 32, depending on how loose on my hips I want them to sit.. A 30 in the latest batch of New Standard fits nearly as loose as my 32 RRDS, pretty much barely sitting on my hips. I got a pair of 29 APC New Standards, and they had some room (maybe a little more than an extra inch) at the hips when I bought them. I like the anitfit look, but not as extreme as I normally wear them, so that was perfect. I can actually pull them on and off witout undoing any buttons. But I could have easily fit into a pair of 28's, and a pair of 27's would have been just a little snug. The latest batch of (raw) New Standards runs really big. I would definitely recommend a 30, or even a 29 for you.

what is the smallest waist size on any apc fit, mens or womens. i am a really skinny dude, (waist 25), and if apc does not have a fit in at least 27 for men i would go over to womens, even though you want to size down, not up. its hard getting jeans in my size.

The smallest size is 25 (for women, but the jeans are pretty much unisex apart from a lower rise for us gals). With APC that's more like an actual 27.

cheers guys. today i actually tied on a pair of the wide legged new standarts in raw. the jeans werent flattering, but they fit well. i think ill go for a 30 or 29 depending on whether they shrnk or stretch with wash and wear

Hey guys I just followed the instructions on the previous posts about measuring two inches below my navel and I have a 33 3/4 inch waist. Now I was wondering do you guys recommend getting a 31 inch waist or a 32 inch waist? I usually prefer my jeans a little loose. I actually wear a 33 inch Earnest Sewn Hutch but it feels much too loose. What do you guys think?

Definitely no bigger than 31. I wear a slightly loose 33 in the Hutch as well, and my APC Rescues are a very comfortable 30.

Alright. So I'm about 5'10, 145-150 lbs. A little bit on the skinny side. My actual waist is about 31 or so, give or take a half inch. I tried the 29 New Standards a couple months ago and they were a little loose already, though the legs themselves were good and I'd rather not get too much tighter than that (I dunno why, but I'm having a hard time finding good tight-fitting shirts).

For other measurements, I've got 15-inch calves, 20-21 inch upper thighs and 16 inch lower thighs.
