I'm looking to buy my first pair of APC denim and want to make this a worthy online purchase (b/c i'm nowhere near an APC store to try some on). I have a pair of Gap's 1969 rigid denim and hear that the New Standard has a similar fit (for me its snug in the thigh). Talking in general, if i want my APCs to be fitted like levis 511 skinny jean, what cut would you guys suggest? New Standard? Petit Standard? or New Cure? I not looking for a"spray-on" look, more fitted kind of wear.

thanks!

I own the same pair of Gaps in 30, and wear New Standards in 27. The rise is higher than the Gaps, I would go with the Petite Standards if you're looking for a similar fit.

Hi guys, i am a size 26 in New Standard, should i also take 26 in Petit Standard or perhaps size one up?

The New Standards are a abit snug on me, which is fine, but they shouldnt be any smaller.

might want to size up 1 on petits. at least thats what i do

^^^ +1 I know it sounds strange for APC, but the problem with 26 Petit Standards is that they are ridiculously tight in the thighs and through the leg. This is coming from a very slim person with a true 28 waist by the way. If you don't want anything tighter than the NS, definitely size up.

Why not just get New Cures instead? They aren't as tapered as petit standards.

So I'm normally a size 32, if I were to get the PS, would it be recommended to size up or down considering these jeans do stretch.

I wanted to ask a question about A.P.C.'s leather shoes. As I understand it, the leather soles are from Italy however the entire shoe is produced in Portugal. For a brand as comparision, Common Projects which are unbridled in their choice of materials and choosing to make their shoesi in Italy, is there really a significant difference in quality? Is it more about one having very good quality and the other deluxe?

Please only use "normal size" as guidelines, never take it as a fact.

APC is vanity sized, so as a rule of thumb size 1 or 2 down compared to your "normal" size, but ALWAYS ask for measurements, and know exactly what measurements you need.

Thanks for the recommendation "bwahaha", i am going to attempt a size 27 PS.

I can't comment on CPs, but I've APC Derbies and they are not worth full price, if you can get them at 50% off like I did, they are a decent buy. I can compare them to my much more expensive C&J and the upper leather quality just isn't there, it's very soft and thin. The leather creases badly, and even with shoe trees some of the bigger ones are not getting any better. And normally I like small creases to give the shoe some character.

The thing that I like about them is the thick leather sole, it looks like it will take a lot of wear before it needs replacing. But I'm not sure how long the upper will last.

Not sure if you tried/bought the PS, but I'm also a size 26 in NS and was wondering if you have the same space in the thighs or are they tighter? Cause I thought the only difference in the PS and NS would be in the legs? Since I want a baggier fit in the thighs and smaller in legs and can't/don't want to go smaller in the thighs.

I usually wear a 32 in RRL, Diesel, etc, what and I don't like my jeans too crazy tight, what would people reccomend in APC for me? Both sizing wise, and style.

I do like the look of them and it seems that they are really good qaulity and could use a new pair of jeans.

Thanks

Also - Anyone with APC experience - especially PS experience - can someone tell me how long until the jeans were fully stretched out? I'm at 27 wears and the thighs are still a bit tight for me.... Am I SOL? Or will they loosen or atleast feel looser as the jeans soften?
