considering the waist measures a 27, I would imagine that one would expect up to 2 inches stretch in the waist, correct?
So, would seem to me that a true 29 or even 30 waist could get by w/ a 25?

The size down 2 or 3 rule doesn't seem to take into account all of the stretching most here agree you can expect.

Stretching is dependent on the amount of material, too; think of it more as a percentage than a hard number. If you have a natural 29/30 waist, a 27 should stretch to be just about perfect (at least for me). You could try a 26, but at that point, why not just buy a different cut?

Sizing down 5 will make them unwearable, by the way.

try to imagine where the jeans sit on your body. natural waist may be 29 but where the jeans sit is going to be 31-32". so there is no way you fit in a 25 compare to a pair of pants you already have not the measurements of your body (most people are completely incompetent and cannot measure themselves worth a fuck)

Does anyone know which style of APC jeans have a 35" inseam? I heard all of them used to, but not anymore. My 30" waist black NS have 35" inseam, but the indigo ones don't. Anyone have a 35" inseam pair?

[quote=max_r;4211387]i have size 31 petit standards that i bought because my waist got bigger and i couldn't fit in the new standards for a while. i've since cut down a bit, and now the PS are a bit loose, and the NS fit again.

my 28 NS have stretched alot since they were new (like almost 4 inches i think in the waist) and the PS have stretched 2" last time i measured, so comparing the two isn't exactly a fair comparison, but currently the PS fit like a size larger in the hip/upper thigh, but about the same/a bit smaller from the knee down.

what kind of fit were you going for with the PS? like your NS but more taper?

yes exactly, like ns but tapered. I was scared to size down too much though, thought the low rise might mean too much ball compression. the ps are already roomier in the waist/thigh than the ns, and i havent broken them in yet. still, not too bad with a belt, i think they might make quite a good slim/slouchy fit for summer.

thanks for the response.
I am just having the same confusion brought up on the thread so many times before.
the 25 "is" a 27.....which, I assume, would then stretch to around a 29

God no. I couldn't imagine sizing down two more for my PS. I'm a 29 waist and I bought a tagged 27 which is perfect and definitely has not stretched out by 2 inches.

The faux noir are sick. Unfortunately they barely stretch. I'd say size down one or even wear then TTS. I had to give my pair to my skinny brother after two weeks of wearing them around the house did barely anything to stretch them out.

Hm that makes me a tad nervous. I'm a 30, where I wear my jeans I'm around a 31. Tried on a 28PS, fit just fine in the waist so I got a 27 to account for stretching. Guess I'll find out when they show up, otherwise I'll have to exchange.

My measured waist is like 32.5" and I have a PS in 30 which is borderline loose in the waist but still tight in legs after 2 weeks of wear

Does APC make anything in a coated black? I've seen the faux black, but they seem like they'd fade a good amount. Looking for something JET black.

Also, how is the PS fit? I had a pair of rescues a few years ago and didn't like the cut at all. Pretty boring. PS fit similar to Regular Ralf's from Nudies? or Levi 501's?

is the faux noir just an overdyed navy thats really dark to look black or is it really black?
