APC sizing woes Hey guys, I'm hoping to get some confirmation and/or info about differences between black and indigo APC NS. I'm not sure if this is a quality control problem or simply how APC sizes their jeans, but it appears that black NS are sized significantly larger than indigo NS. A few days ago I tried on indigo APC jeans in size 31 (my real waist size is 34 but I wear 32 is most jeans). They fit great and they had tons of length. This is important since I have a 35" inseam. The salesperson told me that even though they're supposed to have a 34" inseam, they're actually 35.5". When I tried them on it seemed to confirm that since they looked very long in the mirror and even considered having them altered if I chose to buy them. I instead chose to buy size 31 in black, but those turned out to not be tight enough so I exchanged them for 30 in black. They're perfect. When I made the exchange I also bought a pair of indigo in size 30, but the guy accidentally gave me PS instead of NS, so I couldn't fit into them very well. So today I went again to exchange them for a NS but didn't try them on since I assumed they would fit just like the black NS. This turned out to be wrong. They're much tighter in the waist, which is actually fine since I heard they indigo stretches more than black (different denim). I can't quite button the top button. However, they're also an inch shorter. This is utterly confusing to me since I don't know why the length would be different, and I swear when I tried on the indigo in size 31 a few days ago that they were very long. These don't even touch the floor when I wear them barefoot. Images and a link are attached. Can someone measure the inseam of their indigo APC NS to help me out here? I'd go back to the store but they said this was the last size 30 they had in stock, so they wouldn't have another for me to compare to. My tagged size 27 (29" waist) NS were 34" long. Context lists the inseam as ranging from 33" to 35" depending on the waist size.

Hmm, okay, interesting. Too bad the APC website doesn't list any measurements whatsoever. Someone on ebay has a pair listed that's marked 29 waist and he says they're a true 35" inseam, so again that's confusing since my 30s have 34" inseam.

About par for the course these days... I want to buy stuff online since there's more selection and it's more convenient, but no one lists true sizes (or even made-up sizes a lot of times), and even then you don't know what you're going to get...

I contacted APC and they said that these probably are the ones you have. http://www.apc.fr/homeS09.php?r=1&ew...ite=EX&i=1&d=1 Not sure myself, they don't really look like yours... Edit: Aw, APC-links don't work... Search -> Trousers -> last pair called "grey blue"

APCs are the only jeans anyone needs. EVER.

I'd like those sky blue Petite Standards if they were actually more of a sky blue and not just white jeans with sky blue tinting.

Quick question about apparel sizing, I am looking to get an A.P.C. hooded parka and I am deciding between Large and XL, I normally wear Large in BR/Gap/etc. but I recently had to get an xl in a 7 for all mankind jacket because I have bigger shoulders...any insight would be helpful, thanks a lot

i have size 31 petit standards that i bought because my waist got bigger and i couldn't fit in the new standards for a while. i've since cut down a bit, and now the PS are a bit loose, and the NS fit again. my 28 NS have stretched alot since they were new (like almost 4 inches i think in the waist) and the PS have stretched 2" last time i measured, so comparing the two isn't exactly a fair comparison, but currently the PS fit like a size larger in the hip/upper thigh, but about the same/a bit smaller from the knee down. what kind of fit were you going for with the PS? like your NS but more taper? Re: inseam measurements; i think they might be shorter on small sizes and longer on long sizes. my 28 NS inseam is i think 34", a pair of 30 NS i had but sold measured 35", and my 31 PS are 35.5" inseam. no washes or soaks on any of them. they were all bought at different times though so it could just be different in different batches. doesn't bother me much, +/- 1" doesn't seem to make a big difference if you're wearing them stacked, and its a non-issue if you're getting them hemmed. i can only really see it being a problem if you're tall and need a long inseam regularly.

(in my experience) A.P.C clothing is made for smaller/slimmer people... But to make sure then ask the seller/shop for measurements

walked into an apc store in paris today and looked around and finally found the faux noir pair. they look dark like very very dark overdyed denim. they are also made in macau but are selvage where as the normal black apc ps and ns are not selvage. almost grabbed a pair but have too many jawns at the moment.

for sizing, im a 26 ns and tried on 27 ps. it was my first time actually trying on a PS since ive had several pairs of NS. the PS fit very slim in the leg and would need to stretch out a bit to my liking and my waist was actually not as slim as i remember my 26 ns being where i could not button my top 1/2 buttons. i could button all on 27. but the SA said everyone sizes up one from NS for PS.

should have taken pics of the faux noir. ill be going in another APC shop later in the week and will prolly succumb to buying the pair or at the least will take some pics for comparison.

The Context site lists the 25 NS as having a 27 waist. I understand these are vainity sized, but also know that they are known to stretch considerably. considering the waist measures a 27, I would imagine that one would expect up to 2 inches stretch in the waist, correct? So, would seem to me that a true 29 or even 30 waist could get by w/ a 25? The size down 2 or 3 rule doesn't seem to take into account all of the stretching most here agree you can expect.
