Has anyone ordered online with APC or by phone (NYC). I get a message in French on the website saying something to the effect that I can't order (I guess it reads a US I.P) and I've left a message at the store but have little hope of a return call.

So I have a pair of APC's from the New York store that I am unsure about the cut. They use white stitching, fit only an inch larger than the 28 they are tagged, have no cut tag, 10 inch rise, 7 inch hem, and a two button fly. Anyone know what cut they are?

Yeah, I ordered online. I didn't have any problems. Just go to APC.fr, and click on "Northern America->English." You must have somehow gotten their Euro site. The direct link to the U.S. is, I believe, http://www.apc.fr/us/en/index.php Alternatively, their U.S. mail order order address/tele is: A.P.C. Mail Order 131 MERCER ST. Thanks! That did the trick, expect everything I wanted is sold out. I'll be ready in January.

Chrono seems to have steered you correctly already, but to add to the chorus: my thighs are around 22.5" around or so and the NS fit me just fine in a 28. Actually, they're probably a bit smaller now that I've been dropping weight for the past couple months, but in any case they're proportionally not too far off from yours. I don't think you'll have a problem with the thighs in a size 30 New Standard. Even if they're a bit tight at first, they'll easily stretch. The back rise is pretty decent on the New Standards as well, so I doubt you'll have any problem with the fit on the ass, either.

So, they stretch a lot in the thighs even if they're not that tight? Don't you need to apply some pressure for them to stretch? Sounds magical... and annoying.

I got a pair today, they're absolutely amazing. The fit is prefect for me now. I usually wear a 34 (36 in PBJ one-wash, 33 in somet) and I got a 33. I could button up but I'm pretty sure I would have had lots of trouble with 32. I hope these won't be huge in a month. I know they'll stretch but I always thought it's proportional to how much pressure you apply on waist/thigh. If they're really really tight, they should stretch more...right? I dunno.

If you only went one size down then they're most likely going to end up too baggy.

Many people have sized down 4 freaking sizes. I am a true 34 waist and got a 30.

But 4 sizes is ridiculous. Not saying that you can't do that, but I know for sure that I wouldn't be able to button 31, let alone a 30. That can't be right? Could you button it all up from the first try? I can with my 33 but it took a little bit of effort. In 32, which I unfortunately couldn't try on, I probably wouldn't have been able to button the top (just a guess!).

Four sizes is ridiculous. The APC denim will stretch easily, so if you DID decide to go down four whole sizes, it would probably eventually stretch out enough for you to wear them comfortably, but the button fly would gap like crazy and you'd be fighting against the cut the whole way. At that point, why the hell aren't you just getting New Cures? Seriously, just buy an entirely different cut, you clearly didn't want New Standards in the first place. One or two sizes is fine. If you only sized down one, I'd expect them to end up a bit loose and a little relaxed, but not baggy. Just sort of "regular" fit. Two down usually ends up slim but not skinny. You could go down three if you wanted a skinny fit, but like I said, at that point you don't want New Standards, you want New Cures or KMW Rockers or JR Hobokens or something entirely different.

it sounds extreme, but the waist does stretch up to 4 full inches. people have measured it.

The waist might stretch that much, but other parts, like the crotch, may not...

I'm thinking about buying some APC NS. I wear 30 in Levi's, which means I probably wear 30 most of the time. I can get 28 APC's buttoned and zipped, but they're like a second skin, which I don't like. If I get 29's, will they stretch too much and look baggy and stupid, or not? Alternatively, if I get 28's, will they be really uncomfortable for a month or so, and I will likely get a crotch blowout eventually?

Get the 28s... the APCs will stretch out and probably end up being relaxed/slim. Just don't size down four unless you have a disco ball handy.

I forgot to account for the fact that the APC new standard is vanity sized. A size 30 is equal to a 32 levi's. So its actual stretch is proably 2 inches. I think most of the stretching is in the waist, but also the thighs. Probably not much at all in the lower leg but I think it all depends on how big your legs are and how much pressure is on the denim. I'm mostly going by what people on sufu have said since there are a lot more new standard owners who've had them for over a year on that forum: Originally Posted by kian View Post Ugh, my 29 NSs measure 34 now.
