Does the Petit Standard have a wider thigh than the New Standard? Does it fit different around the waist?
^petit standard is def slimmer in the thighs

I got my APC's in the mail today. they are New Standards size 31. They were worn by the previous owner for a week but were too tight. They have stretched out. Have they stretched out too much for me? The waist feel good but I am worried about the thigh. Does it seem a little too baggy? I know I need to hem them. Will that make them look any better?

So I broke off the top button on my APCs. It was the loose button, and I thought there was something wrong with it because my last pair had the solid button, but I guess that's just the way they're made now. Anyways I played around with it too much trying to push it back into "solid" position and it broke off.

I actually still have my old pair with the solid button, I wouldn't mind using that button if it's possible to remove it and sew it on the new pair. Or should I just take them to the tailor and have him put any old button on there?

so i just got my size 30's in the mail, and they fit great right out of the box. pretty much perfect all over... are these gonna stretch like crazy and not fit well later? I was able to button them up all the way no problem.

where i wear my jeans (on my hips) it measures about 34" around, so i bought size 30, because sz 30 measures 32 + 2 inches of stretch for 34" hips.

i'm gonna see if my roommate is in so i can borrow his camera to take pictures.

Yes--IMO buttoning up the jeans on your first wear for APCs should be at least a little difficult, otherwise they will almost be falling off later.

i mean, they're snug, and sitting down, they have room to stretch, they would be able to stretch an inch and a half at most and still be comfortable without needing a belt.

i just dont want them to look like baggy 501's in a month.

anyway, i got my roommates camera, but there are no charged AA batteries in this entire apartment.

here's a crappy picture i took with my phone, pretty much useless but i guess better than nothing

I found this picture a while ago because i like the fit, and they fit similar to this right now

(except these are 28's and mine are 30's that i would say mine fit a bit slimmer in the thighs)

i dont want a skinny fit, just a nice slim fit, fitted thighs, not tight calfs.

It's amazing how many posts there can be about one thing...a pair of jeans
Not hating! just observing

Regardless, I know some people who actually like the rescue's sized down a bit then tapered for the BEST fit/look. My brother does that to great success...just throwing that out there

The New Cure is too crazy for me. I have New Standards that I've had for ove 2 years...those serve me nicely

ok after searching the thread with different keywords, i found a couple posts of people who bought them without sizing down a whole lot, and it seems like the silhouette doesnt change much and most of the stretching is in the waist, and minimally in the thighs? if so, I think these 30's might be perfect, because i saw this guy's fit picture when he bought them, http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...postcount=4832 definitely more relaxed looking than mine, and his 3-month later waywt picture looks awesome, imo http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...postcount=5042 is actually one of the pictures that made me decide to get new standards. i've got no qualms with wearing a belt to stop them from falling off, i actually like a nice relaxed waist, but i like the rest slim. edit- other roommate came back from class, borrowed his camera. he thought i was weird for taking pictures of my jeans, haha dont usually tuck my shirt in, just did it for the picture so the whole jeans are visible.

Those look fine as is. Make sure to wear a belt so they won't stretch unnecessarily. Expect the waist to stretch a bit but not too much and the legs shouldn't stretch much at all. All these guys that claim their APCs stretched 4 inches on the waist sized down or sag them too much. If they fit correctly from the beginning, they should not stretch excessively. e.g. The waist on my size 27 NC and NS stretched about an inch even after a year of wear.

cool.

yeah, i've decided i'll keep them, from what i've asked of some people, the legs dont stretch much, and the waist only stretches a ton if theres lots of pressure on it.

And i kind of like having a relaxed waist on jeans, so it should work out fine.

also, i just now tried putting my hands in the front pockets, and wow they're pretty shallow. i dont really care though i dont really use front pockets for anything except hands when its cold out.
At first, it bothered me that the pockets were so shallow on my NS, but I have a pair of Marc Jacobs jeans with a very similar fit and much deeper pockets, and it's so much more difficult to use the deeper pockets since it's harder to get my hand all the way in there. So I kind of like the shallow pocket now. But any smaller and I am not having it.
